I did a bit of research into the Maria Lionza religion. It appears they believe in many healing rituals involving bloodletting. It is difficult to pull up an image search on them without encountering a large number of images of bloody people. It seems silly and backwards to people in my country, but many of us believe in equally absurd and potentially harmful things.

In a video about it, someone said (in English) they worship God above all and next they had another deity with a specific name. I hope they aren't referring to the Abrahamic God. It saddens me that these rich cultures are being so easily swayed and corrupted by the beliefs of missionaries from the world's most twisted group of religions.
