Well I read in eve lore that gallente had long forgotten French origins.
So I looked up a common French surname Etienne ahh says I now I need a first name. I watched a film once "Revenge" it had Kevin Costner and Anthony Quin being the gangster boss. He was called Tibby Mendez. kind of a soft name for a big hulking gangster. I thought it was well cool. So on my search for French first names. yep I found it. Thibault it was as close as I could get.

I think in EVE, more than other games of its kind, what you do is much more important than your name. After all, what the heck is a "Mittani" and why is there a "The" in front of it? Same for "Chribba" and "Awox".. these have meaning to us because of the stories associated with them that are told over and over as part of EVE culture.


The Mittani were a culture in the Middle East that was known, pretty much, for getting curb-stomped by the Hittites. It makes me laugh every time I see his name in Eve.

Yes I care for nostalgia reasons.

This name I have used since I first started to play Ultima Online back in 2001. However it is missing the last name of Death. That I would add if given the chance.

Best name ive seen was something like. Primary secondary. I can imagine a fc ignoring that target in a fight because of the sheer confusion of it.

I was gonna name this char Rocco Siffredi, but it was taken, so I though if I where a European Pr0n star what would I call myself. Darko Atlante, also I name most of my chars with Balkan names because Balkans are badass.

Everytime I have to interact with someone who failed the most basic task of choosing a *name* ('AdjectiveNoun', 'TitleJoe', 'L33tx0r', 'ILikeBoobs') in an immersive multi-player game, I die a little inside. Plus I always assume they can't read without moving their lips or tie their shoe laces unaided. No offense meant, it's just how I feel about it.

So yeah, I care to that extend.
