Do you care your character name?

With apologies to Bill, ~ A Mr Epeen by any other name would not smell as sweet.

The name is more important than people like to think. At least for forum alts.

Of course I do

I care for mine as I've been called it by a lot of people now who I trust and/or hold quite dear to me.

It's hard to have lived your entire EvE life in null/low sec and NOT form ties with people. At fanfest last year it was the most natural thing in the world to be called Sam by these people despite it being very different from my actual name.

Even some of my friends have started calling me Sam as we have another friend with the same real name as me and I've adopted sam vimes as my steam name as well.

Basically it IS my name now not just my character.

If you've never tried PvP in EvE it's quite possible you've missed out on one of the greatest rushes available in modern gaming.

Basically, when you spend half your life dealing with incompetent and unreliable people, you figure it's easier to just do everything yourself and **** everyone else off. At that point, you know longer really give a **** what anyone thinks.

On topic: I like my name.

Are you saying that I don't smell as sweet as you?

I would like it if I could spell my name without having to double check its spelling.

It can be a pain when I use my character name to log in.

This is not a signature.

Meh. Salty Dog was taken. I ever run into that dude he's gonna get ganked big time! Lol

My dad was a sailor on the ocean. He knows all about the ocean. What he doesn't know is why he quit being a sailor and married my mom.

I'm wondering if I should have put a silent E at the end of mine, but I thought it looked silly. Might have been proper but I have no clue.

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

I've had this name for more years than I care to count. Started off as a character in Dungeons and Dragons, migrated to Everquest and other online MMOs. Seemed fitting to make it my first Eve character.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

I used to like my name until I started getting primaried early in nearly every fight, and realised that even in really busy systems, everyone will see me blip up at the top of local Sad

Yes, I am attached to it.

Hiply was one of my AD&D characters, became my first (hopelessly gimped) character when Asheron's Call launched, and I've used it in every MMO I've been involved with since then.
