Ridiculous patch sizes

Whatsup with these ridiculous patch sizes. You not play the game for few months and you are facing a 3gb patch size (which is larger then the original client?). Whats up with these ridiculously large patches every now and then. Is this client really designed so badly that we need to patch 3gb for such small changes to the gameplay?

I feel like hte game is designed very badly, because for changes that are so small, you hardly notice them ingame, we need to download patches with a 3gb size. Just to find out that there is almost nothing changed.

You guys should focus on making this client better and for a game that is basicly very simple. stargates that connect to eachtother, the patches are insanely large..... I would not mind to download a patch that large, but to find out the changes are so minimal and the patch size is 3gb, that leaves nothing else but knowing that the client is very poorly designed.

I log in everyday so the patches tend to be small unless its a major update to the game.

And 3 gigs isn't really that big. Download a few movies in 1080p uncompressed.

I'm ok with a three and a half minute download tbh. Normally takes longer to install it on this old SSD.

The changes appear to minimal because CCP are still fixing 10 year old code that is broken, as well as putting in place the framework for future expansions.

Think of it as a building, without a solid core/frame any future add-ons are going to fall apart in a spectacular fashion.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

To the OP

Try this on for size

Create a application (game) in 2002
Get rid of all your developers (who don't comment anything on the code)
Get new developers that look at the code and wonder what that sh*t is

Oh and while this is happening, run the business of creating content for prats like you

Rant over ...

I am aware of my own ignorance and have checked my emotional quotient - thanks for asking

Confirming that upkeep to a 12 year old game is unnecessary.

Just be happy they're not selling the patches at full price in addition to the subscription.

I anxiously await OP's kickstarter for "basicly very simple. stargates that connect to eachtother" game.

It would be better if you poasted this in the right place for you.

I agree with the OP, change is bad, improvement to the game is bad, and Eve online should be an iphone app.

last I checked the client was 12 GB installed on my computer.

Last patch had a lot of new content, ie new ships, sites, retextured ships, the NES graphics. 3 GB really isn't that big for modern video games.

Someone already confirmed that. But now we have confirmation of the confirmation - can someone confirm our confirmation of the confirmation that we already had?

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

Confirmed. Please confirm my confirmation of the confirmation of your confirmation of the original confirmation so that we may send for third part confirmation of our confirmation.

I concur with your confirmation, but as I originally confirmed a confirmation I can no longer confirm any further confirmations of the original confirmation. It will need a trusted third party confirmation expert. Is Chribba available?
