is there a formula for speed tanking? Or anything at all?

I am wanting to find out the rough idea of the DPS my speed tanked tengu can tank against NPC's, are there any formula's that i can do some math with to figure out that number? Or is there any other alternative method? The enemies i would most likely be going against are sleepers or rats in nullsec, if that alters anything.

There are formulas. I think you need to know what rats are using for weapons systems to calculate the full formula.
And generally, the concept is, go fast, get under the guns. Which sort of implies an MWD. Yet, the MWD will balloon your sig radius so that you're easier to hit.

I don't know the math, but I know what works for my Tengu.
I use afterburner fits when I really need the best tank, and I just keep moving. Tengu has a small sig radius, and you want to keep it that way.

I don't think a Tengu is the best ship for sleepers, but for most other rats, it can do pretty well.



Also: You're sort of in the wrong forum to get the most exposure/feed back.

NPC's often have 90% webs. This makes speed tanking them very.... dangerous. While many frigates can outrun the webbing NPC's, it will be much harder in a tengu. I hope you can kill the webbers or you won't speed tank terribly well.

Also, realize that speed tanking often requires MWD'ing, which increases your sig radius. In many ways, this will negate your speed tank.
