I just created a new file for the test server. Followed all of the instructions but after I added server:Singularity to the end of the target box for the shortcut, I get an Invalid Target message. Any help or ideas would be awesome.

Many thanks

Hi not sure if this will help but here is my shortcut:

C:\Evetest\eve.exe /server:Singularity

Where I copied all eve sub-folders and files to a Folder I made on my C-drive called Evetest.

All I can suggest is you manually follow the path and made sure folder names are right?

Thanks for the reply gargars.

I followed the instructions to the letter. Created a new folder. copied and pasted what was needed. When that failed I deleted the folder created a new Evetest folder and then downloaded a new client into that. everything is good just not accepting the addition to the target shortcut.

If I figure it out I will post it.

The most common error is the space before the back slash is missing or wrong.

The site http://games.chruker.dk/eve_online/server_status.php is what i use to see if the server is up and it has the server number that you can substitute for Singularity if you want to try that.

If i dont know something about EVE. I check https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/ISK_The_Guide

See you around the universe.

Also double check your "Start in" directory. It needs to match the directory where the eve.exe file is stored.

So if your shortcut leads to:

C:\Evetest\eve.exe /server:Singularity

Then you want to make sure that the Start In: loaction is:

C:\Evetest\

And if your Target: is:

C:\Subdirectory\Subdirectory\anotherfolder\goddamn\weburyingthis\Evetest\eve.exe /server:Singularity

It's Start in Directory needs to be:

C:\Subdirectory\Subdirectory\anotherfolder\goddamn\weburyingthis\Evetest\

And so on.

This is also a common issue when making shortcuts or modifying pre-existing ones.

Here is a good look at my Launcher Shortcut for reference: http://puu.sh/9ZhgV.png

One more thing to check. If there are spaces in the folder name you need to use double quotes. Example:

"C:\program files\eve\sisi\eve.exe" /server:sisi

You need to be extra careful where the double quotes are. They are around the folder path only and all parameters are outside of the quotes.

It was the double quotes. They were missing. Once I added them and put in the server addition it took it. Many thanks Sable.

Remember you are supposed to delete certain files when you set it up for sisi.

It's all explained in that link.
