This cruise ship seems to be changing direction a lot!

Looks like a kinda fun ride.

It took some doing, and lots of looking through the old mothballed shipyards to find an example of something that was suitable. I chose a new Tash Murkon Abaddon. I had to have it constructed in a Caldari Shipyard to assure that no slave labor was used in its construction. Then I had the fresh hull hauled to the assembly station.

I have the following items currently installed

1600mm Reinforced Steel Plates II x 2
Adaptive Nano Plating II
Damage Control II
Imperial Nav Large Armor Repper
Reactive Armor Hardener

Large Micro Jump Drive
Prototype 100mn Microwarpdrive I
Target Spectrum Breaker

Festive Launcher
Improved Cloaking Device II
Salvager II
Tractor II

It is still undergoing fitting and space trials and crew training.

I am looking for suggestions for changes and additions to the fittings. I want this ship to be a shining example of what can be done by people who are given a chance to make a better life for themselves.

Are you fine with the very slow align time? If suicide gankers are a concern that's one thing you might want to work on. Also, are you even going to make salvage at all? If not, mayhap you want to consider getting rid of those two and use something else entirely.

I would, instead, suggest the use of a Scorpion for this purpose, if you are bent on using a battleship for recreational purposes. Shield's not too bad of a defense, you can have nanofibers or inertia stabilizers in the low to help you get out of dodge faster. With four nanofibers you can easily reach an align time of 7.1s, which, if you also use an Improved Cloaking Device II and a 100mn Microwarpdrive, allows you to use this manoeuvre known as the 'Microwarp - Cloak Trick' (there are details in the Eve University public knowledge repository and the video hosting sites on Galnet). ECM bonus ensures that you can break lock more reliably to allow you to shed scrams and micro jump away. You have space for five launchers too.

Avoid lowsec or nullsec.

A Minmatar warship is like a rusting Beetle with 500 horsepower Cardillac engines in the rear, armour plating bolted to chassis and a M2 Browning stuck on top.

I tried to convince the Caldari Shipyard to modify the design so I could install more Festive Launchers, but the yardmaster refused to authorize such a change. He said a weapon mount would not be changed to do that, besides, he said it would be an insult to the ship to do so.

Who am I to argue, just the customer, but he would not change his stand. So I got a standard ship. The interior was up to me to have revised, so it is undergoing extensive renovation from a Warship to a Cruise Ship.

As to you discussion of speed, a Cruise is meant to be slow and enjoyable. Yes, there much faster means of travel, but that is not what a Cruise Ship is for.

The Tractor and Salvager are not set in stone as final fittings, some of the crew were concerned about keeping the area around the ship clean and pristine for the Passengers.

The lack of a proper cruise ship model isn't so much a failure of accessibility as it is a failure in creativity. With a bit of divergent thinking even a ragtag Typhoon can be retrofitted into... Say... A giant laser-tag field? The possibilities are only limited to what your glorious, twisted mind can conjure.

If I may make a suggestion? Buy a Charon, purchase the foundation for an underwater colony, fill it with some hydro and-- BAM!-- Instant indoor waterpark.

Mark my words though, the Scorpion is still a slow-arse ship and 7.1s align time is much too slow for my liking. However, if you ever run into a possible gatecamp it's useful to use in conjunction with MWD and Cloak for escape purposes.
