I agree with you sir, when I wrote about my victory over cancer last year, did I whine, did I cry omigawd I'm gonna die, did I beg for money for fully paid services I recieved?? The answer is a BIG RESOUNDING NO!! Did I make new friends and gained support while I was dealing with the situation at hand?? A BIG YES!!

@LS, OP I think you need to sit back and realize and see that even if we are cold hearted in space on the outside, it's in the heart and soul of all of us that REALLY TRULY CARES!!

Except that this pile of **** doesn't care about anything than itself.

While I could mirror most everyone else comments. I have to wonder, are you so ignorant, that you dont see your own selfish behavior? Is it painful to be this stupid? You should stick to crying about non existing bots, instead.

I don't get why people waste time getting mad about something like this on a game forum instead of, you know, playing the game. You nerds, I swear....

Honestly? I don't know.

But if there's a 1% chance that one - or more - real people, with nasty sh*t going on in their life, will get some kind of help or comfort from a kind reply, I'll gladly post it.

I get it, but you might as well rage at a TV break about cancer research fundraising.

Things like cancer suck balls, but a chance to help somebody is worth the unpleasantness of reminding everybody that this sh*t exists. In my very personal opinion, at least.

Yeah I remember your thread sir, I even posted wishing you luck if I remember correctly. This is exactly whati mean, if that thread brought even the smallest amount of comfort in those dark times then its worth it. Simples.

For a moment, put yourself in their shoes. Maybe they don't get along with family, maybe they don't have very many if any friends. Or maybe, they can't be near family and friends.

Maybe they are a forum regular here and in a way, we are all their friends. Just like a regular at a bar. Maybe you don't know their name but you see them around all the time and in a way, they are family.

I am sorry you are personally upset that their story is bringing up painful realities that you must face in the near future. And from me to you, I wish you, your friends and family good luck in the near future and I hope you will have the strength and courage to face whatever lies ahead.

I feel like you should be happy for the OP from which this thread spawned. As it stands, he is beating a dreaded monster that has you worried, I would think it would bring hope and inspiration that if someone you know by proxy can beat cancer, perhaps there is a slim chance those close and dear to you can as well.

If you can't find the silver lining, it is still good for this painful subject to be brought up. You need to get the pain and volatile emotions out while you can instead of keeping them hidden away until the day comes when you'll have to let them all go at once.

You make a valid point, good Sir or Madam.

Who do some people have the need to to post the most private details of their personal life on public forums?

I notice this a lot especially in north American culture - every little detail, first thing a lot of people do is post on all the forums about it. Never mind that a lot of people dont care, or dont want to know, or it might bring up unwanted memories.

What happened to notions of privacy and friends? If you got married, sick, cured, divorced, whatever, tell your friends about it by all means - but why tell strangers? And why do it on a computer game forum of all places?

I mean there are mailing lists, tools to manage friends, corp, alliance mails, regular emails, facebook - use those, its not that hard.

For example - the post here about someone having cancer surgery. Thats great, best of luck to that guy, but do I want to know about it? My grandma has cancer, my friend has cancer, and my best friends mom had breast cancer surgery recently - I do NOT want to be reminded about 3 people I know that might still die. And I do not go asking for support of random people on a computer game forum either - its my details, I do not go burdening others with them.

This is a forum for a computer game, not a board for cancer support. This is best done on facebook or some such.

It may sound harsh, but public means respecting other's right NOT to be informed of personal details of certain nature. Im not being hateful or anything, I just dont want to know about certain things. And there is a reason why certain topics are off limits in the EULA.

Please keep topics here in general direction of EVE.

Attention is all.

You really are a worthless piece of trash LS.

If you don't want to be part of this community and support other players, then kindly sod off. You are entirely useless and your presence is not just unnecessary but toxic. A player came to us for support, and your egotistical response is to rail against him and then open a general hate thread when it turned out that no-one with even a single sane cell in their bodies agreed with your boneheaded stance. If that's the attitude you're going to have, then everyone is better off with you gone.

Where do you draw the line though?

Cancer support messages - allowed. What about other diseases? Thats valid right, people are suffering and need support? Ok. What about other stuff? Divorces, breakups? Again, people are suffering, need support. What about someone breaking an arm or a leg? Again, suffering, pain - need support!

What about someone having a bad day?

How long before this deteriorates into meaningless mush? Is a statement of support from a serial support alt worth anything?

No.

I see your point of course, and its valid, but a line has to be drawn. Im of the opinion that personal stuff should be kept in a specific subsection of the forums at least, to keep the forums focused on specific topics and nothing more.

It would be a good idea for CCP to introduce a new forum, call it Births, Deaths, Celebrations and Memorials, and keep personal stuff there for those of us who do want to get deeply involved with the community on a more personal basis.

Not empty quoting. Will probably get moderated out, but the truth about people often does on these forums.

Yours is about the most crass and heartless shitpost I have had the opportunity to read, OP. Good job with being truly terrible.

You don't get to allow anything.

Also, i feel like this is a good time to mention that I too had a cancerous growth removed several years ago. It was so big, people were all like "I've never seen anything that big". It even had hair growing out of it. But finally the judge signed the divorce papers so now I don't have to see her ass anymore.

That's right, 2 for 1 post right their bruh. Deal with it.
