Yeah, you've stretched it out long enough. Tell everyone what your real plan and intent was. Blink

It literally was just to help out. It was a slow system, and ninja salvaging is like watching paint dry when the people are warping out, or not killing efficiently. I have the Logi, but have no real use for it, and was just killing time anyway, so I figured that I would give it a shot.

The problem is no one can read your mind to know your intentions. How do they know it's Seth's be nice to people day?

If you want to logi try incursions. I think there's still non shiny fleets out there but it's been years since I've done them.

"Oh, hey, I am going to ninja salvage you, but you are taking too long, so I got bored and decided to help you with some cap and shield."

Anyway, the point of the thread wasnt "why are they all running off?" it was more of a "people are too quick on the warp out button, and not checking to see what people are doing." It was also sort of a general commentary on the state of PvE, I suppose.

maybe let them know you got no ill will? i mean, i have seen bait logi's aswell as bait mining barges XD

just drop them message or if possible in local, that you gonna rep them, because they struggle?

its not only that, people hear a lot of spooky tales about agro mechanics in hisec, baiting mission runners, harvesting tears etc etc.
this can ofcourse explain why they think that everyone in the mission pocket outside themselfs is out there to either kill them, or steal form them.

I agree that it's interesting but I would do the same just to be careful. I know it's not the same but in nullsec I've lost an expensive BS when a blue warped on grid. My thought was he's blue so it's okay. My thoughts should have been why did he just warp to me? You start getting cautious about stuff after losing a few ships.

It might not be 100% true but thinking like this in Eve will keep you alive.

I don't trust anyone in Eve unless I know where they live in RL. The possibility of extreme RL discomfort discourages any bad behavior in Eve Blink

To be fair, I was planning to "steal" from them.

So OP comes across some noobs doing badly in missions and decides to ep them so....

...so that they'll survive long enough to create a full loot for him to steal.

So OP is mad the pigs found out he was fattening them for the slaughter and ran away, hahahahaha.

Have we just found a use for the Nestor? Trolling mission runners by probing them down and then suddenly providing them with logi and DPS support in addition to the usual ninja salvaging?

I love it! Rep them while you salvage their wrecks. It would be a bit expensive to use as a ninja looter though.

You don't know how the ship is set up, for all you know it could be fitted to tank your damage and hold you there while the guy warps his alts to join in.

Unless you're jumped by war targets how would his alts be able to join in the fun? That is not how Limited Engagements work.

but thats the point: you don't know. You dont know how hes fit, you dont know what his intent is you dont know if theres 40 catalysts inbound using him as a warp in, coming to gank you purely for the S and giggles. You dont know and your in a pve ship doing pve. There is only one CORRECT response to a badger, a baslisk, an orca or anything at all appearing in your deadspace pocket: WARP OUT AND DOCK UP!. Thats because you don't know and if you do anything else you could lose your ship.

This 100 times this. A single lv 4 is worth peanuts compared to most any ship, preemptive abandoning is always the right thing to do.

You did something that most people dread: you did something unexpected.

A mission runner might or might not be prepared to someone entering his/her mission to ninja salvage or just to get a valid criminal flag and point the mission runner ship while he gets backup.

However seeing someone warping in and starting to rep your ship is very very fishy. I would probably think that said person is aware of some bug / mechanic that is going to give him a valid title to attack me, putting me and my pve fitted ship in high danger.

salvage seems so worthless these days I'm genuinely surprised that people still give a **** about ninja salvagers. hell half the time you abandon wrecks and the ninja just warps off anyways.

wow, just read the rest of the thread, when did eve fill up with wusses? if they are using a logi to gank me it is worth the lulz to stay on grid imo.

Random fuckery with mission runners is so lowball, I don't know why anyone bothers. Spend a few hours passive-target scanning the local bears, watchlist the juicy ones, locator them on a regular basis, then bring a few friends in tornadoes. Simples. Leave the dumb ones to get some isk then come back and harvest them later when it's invested in their ship. The "smart," missioners are the ones you want because they're bold and believe their one undock bm makes them invulnerable.
