Looked a bit on links.

What is your opinion - is it worth it to put couple on a BC hull in a roaming gang without the mind-link implant? Or would the roaming gang (mostly nano HAC's & few tacklers, a logi or two) be better served by taking also a nano-HAC or logi out over a nanoed up BC hull with couple T1 links?

I'm eyeballing mostly the skirmish links but shield harmonizing from siege is also an option.

That would be on-grid thing. Either a command ship or some navy BC hull. Navy Hurricane, for example looks okish on paper.

I'm flying on-grid links as well as off-grid for quite a while now. I used to fly an active Eos with three links quite a lot (also lost two to people with massive backup, else there isn't much an Eos doesn't solo)

Was all in/around wormholes, so no excessive roaming, but the eos had the awesome advantage of fielding 3 links and still having upwards of 3k dps tanked and putting out 600+ on its own, having a slot for a cloak for good traps or just NOS/blasters/150mm rails.

I tried supporting an enyogang a few times with a T1 BC. Lacking any other good base, it turned to be a triplelink-armorgnosis for me - mainly due to aligntimes. If you fill your lows with DCU/1600mm plate and the rest with a-type platings, you actually got something decent that works around the stacking penalties of armor-res-linking and the CPU limitations you create by using two commando processors + 3 links. Given how t2 warfare mindlinks are only 20-40mil, you should absolutely get that one and just throw it on the shiphull, regarding costs. A 70mil linking BC or a 100mil linking BC that is significantly better at its job is a massive difference you'll feel in notime. Also, you don't ALWAYS loose that head.

Currently I'm eying at a dualrep/mwd+mjd myrm with 220s and a armorres link, which will end up at some 900 ehp/s tanked in a duo roam.

Tl;DR:

Prophecy and Gnosis can link an armorgang decently.
Drake, Myrmidon and Cyclone are quite nice for linking shieldgangs.

Eos is the single best smallscale-ongrid CS. (I know about the damnation, and it's crap for smallscale)
Claymore can run LSE+XLASB, full tackle, invuln, mwd and 3 links, still putting out 600dps.

Links are a sick force multiplier (especially prop speed and tackle range), so if you don't have a OGB, would never mis out on one. The difference between CS/T3 and a BC boosting your fleet isn't drastic. Instead of having a 32km point, you'll just have to deal with 29...

Thanx. Good info.

Problem with a mindlink for me is that I also fly destroyer doctrines and these things pop like popcorn when the hostile dictor manages to get a good warp on us and go all hero bubbly. So far I have been lucky but having a t2 link in my head might sting a bit when I fly around in wet paper bag as well often. Then again it is only ~45 mil atm which is approx the same as my egg before any hardware I might put in it so not totally unreasonable. And can always juggle into another clone if not sitting on timer for dessy roam.

Anyway. Enough things to think about.
