Used to be people would tell you just not to even bother without T2 sentries. And you need the skill at V for T2 sentries. Over time your brain must have stored that as "train SDI to V" and filed it away. The human brain does silly shortcuts like that, its a failing of the species. Or a strength, depending on how you look at it.

I understand that you're saying it's difficult for Amarr laser ships to engage non EM weak NPC's. I'm saying Amarr also has a class of drone ships where you would have no issues. dont u need drone interfacing V to even start training the sentry drones skill? Thats roughly 20 days on its own nevermind then getting into actual sentry drone training

i have already cross trained. becuase amarr were so limited in who they could effectively fight. i now fly a vargur. and yes my drones skills are not great i have interfacing to IV.







Interfacing IV used to mean a 20% loss in DPS. Post Khronos you only lose 10% with IV instead of V.

Also T2 sentries used to be substantially better than T1 to the point that T2s were essential. The gap is vow far less. T2 are still better than T1 but they are no longer essential. T1 with medium skills are now very very effective.

The effect of the recent drone changes is that medium skill drone pilots with T1 drones and interfacing IV are now far far more effective at a much lower SP. (Getting that last few percent of damage out of T2 sentries however will take longer than previously as you now need Racial Drone Specialisation V for max sentry damage).

If your that deep into RPing Amarian then you'll have to endure it, but if your adaptable there are more than enough alternative options out there.

I fly Amarr by choice but can passably fly and fire any T1 ship or weapon if needed (except caldari BBs). That has come use in a few missions where my chosen way of playing was ineffective but a alternate was effective.

it still sucks, amarr get nasty ewar to deal with and a limited effective or efficient engagement profile. that sucks.
