Amarr getting Caldari missions

If you want noob friendly PVE go Caldari and use missile ships. If you pick one of the turret races you're going to be at a disadvantage with lower SP. . No one forces you to make this choice... Eve is about choices with everything and all have consequences and rewards.

TBH with some of the new MJD fits and patches level 4 are too easy... I would like to see them more challenging and profitable.

Level 4 missions are the highest level missions since 5's were removed from highsec. To solo them should require a skilled pilot. Newer pilots should be able to complete them in a fleet. If you're unable to solo Dread Pirate Scarlett perhaps you're need more skills. I've done this with Navy Apocalypse fitted with T1 guns.

And how much dps did you have when doing?

PS: I got 30 million SP, whereas 8 of them are in Gunnery.

I'm on vacation and not at my computer but it was with Tachyon beam lasers. I think just over 500 but that's just from memory. Right now I use a MJD Dominix for this mission. I would guess the Amarr drones BS would do well.

I'm not saying a laser ship is ideal or even does we but it's capable.

Never flown one, but I would have thought a paladin with tachs would handle Gurista fine.

Paladin has no issues with anything but with 1k DPS at 70 km that's to be expected. I think a Golem does better with Guristas though.

Starting from lvl3, missions go completely random, excluding only 2 empires and their supporters from the list. Kinda surprised to see this post from a BS pilot.

Hello there.
I think it should be changed how Amarr pilots are getting missions regarding Guristas and Serpentis. The problem with these missions is especially clear in level 4 missions where both Guristas and Serpentis ships resistance to EM and Thermal are way too high, and require either incredible amount of dps or require that the damage done is Kinetic which is not available for us who prefer to fly Amarr ships.

One specific mission which has been one of the most hated missions for a long time is The Assault - Level 4 regarding Guristas. This problem was even stated back in 2008 in http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=837226 but has not been fixed or looked over by CCP.

I hope this will be looked into since it's very time consuming and frustrating to do these missions.

Many regards

Just get a Legion with the missile-subsystem and make it a tanky beast. Low sig + a few medium-grade Halo-implants and it tanks better then any battleship, thanks to the reduced damage from larger rats.

For level 3 missions a Sacrilege would also work. Or take an Armageddon and load up on drones. (The Armageddon can also be fitted with launchers, so you have additional DPS.)

Wait, you do have weapon skills besides lasers, I hope? Because if not, wow.

Mission variety is fine. You should never always fight the same rats. It would make missions even more boring than they already are. It also rewards people who cross train.

more like it makes people cross train.

caldari dont have to.

minmatar dont have to.

i would be happy if they just reduced the frequency at which u recieve the missions for guristas aand angels in amarr space.

Amarr don't have to either. Fly one of the Amarr drone ships. This allows damage selection and Bouncers destroy Angel rats with ease

What about missiles and drones? Also T2? If you're too deeply specialized into Amarra and lasers, just take a Navy Apoc or Paladin sniper-fit and overwhelm those stupid rats with massive DPS from far, far away.

(In my case, I'm lucky to be a fan of the Pilgrim and the Sacrilege, so I heavily invested in both missile and drone skills.)

My mission alt started out Amarr. Back then he owned a Pulse Harbinger and a Missile/Drone Dual Repper Prophecy.

His medium laser skills were very good but his missile/drone skills were average. The harbie struggled with many level IIIs whereas the prophecy ate IIIs for breakfast and could handle a lot of IVs (albiet slowly).

He now flies a Domi at Lanngisi and in Gallente spaceand a Rattler in Caldari/Amarr space. If I ever get around to giving him a Maurauder I may consider a Paladin but chances are I will go Golem or Vargur.

@ the OP, perhaps what you should be doing is lobbying for Amarr to have access to faction crystals with more damage types rather than nerfing missions to make them easier.

Been suggested multiple times in the forms. Every weapon has it's strengths and weakness. They can't have all strengths.

Is it fair that missiles can hit targets at 160km with high damage ammo for the same damage as point blank while guns lose damage with distance?

Is it fair that lasers reload instantly while other turrets do not?

Is it fair that projectile turrets take twice as long to reload than hybrids?

Bottom line is there are differences... This is what makes Eve fun! If you don't like lasers then you have three other choices.

Here's my tach fit. 647 DPS @ 74 + 41. If you upgrade the guns to T2 698 DPS with spec 4. You have to change to faction hardeners but they're cheap. This is a BR/ Sansha tank. You can avoid most damage from everything but Guristas. With them you'll probably have to drop a heatsink.

Edit: DPS numbers are without drones... They're in there because it has a drone bay and if you make a bad mistake. If you want you can add 3 Warden II and still have room for 5 lights. This will add 138 DPS.

Keep in mind this is only a stepping stone to a Paladin. There's also some nice mega pulse fits but I prefer sniping.

MJD Domi with bouncers does it fine with 700DPS and pretty much no tank other than range.

it cannot kill scarlet in time to get the 20 mill implant though.

They can start training the other third of their race's ships. Its one thing to specialize in one race of ships. Its another thing entirely to pigeonhole yourself. HTFU.

Expecting to only have to train one weapon system to be good at everything is just stupid.

I knew sum1 would say htfu

but if u started caldari or minmatar ur good to go as far as pve is concerned and guess what? thats only one weapons system for each.

so you have to spend time and money (or isk/plex) keeping ur account active to get new skills. whereas those who started caldari or minmatar dont have to.
