Whether it's flexing the muscles of your industrial might, waging war for resources or territorial control, playing a propaganda war or killing people and taking their stuff because you want what they have, or just because you can, the competition is out there.

EVE is a 11 year long (so far) arena match that keeps moving forward. Many have joined the battle, many have survived the tests and trials so far, but countless have fallen because they weren't the sharpest, the fastest thinking, the most devious, the most ruthless or most intelligent thinking.

Even more will fall in the future, and they'll be replaced by fresh blood as alliances and corporations rise and fall.

I recently wrote a blog post proposing a PvP arena system for new players only, to encourage them to learn PvP in a way that doesn't cost them too much, and would actually reward them too.

While the Op's idea is crap, I dont see why the duel feature cant be expanded upon now that it is part of eve. Make it so that small groups and fleets can duel each other and add a betting feature to the process where each side can post specific amounts of isk or other items as a bet on the outcome of the duel.

I don't play, I just fourm warrior.

Its called RvB. Cheap fittings and on the most part fleets will try and be even. Why add something so forced when you can get it in game already?

You are now top contender for current CCP dev of my heart.

Just so you know, I cant make it an exclusive thing, because the last few devs who had that coveted position left... and im just not willing to put myself out there for just one person anymore.

Lets just say that its me not you.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

I have been playing this game for years and love it, like most of us. But I have been waiting years now for a Rated Ladder System. I'm sure many people who would like to see this. Adding a 1v1, 2v2, and so on up to 5v5 with a secured ladder system would be great fun, and also teach people how to pvp properly. I.E. flying your ship in space. There is nothing like a healthy round of competition... hell it's what EvE is based on... my ship is better then your ship... warp to sun?

This ladder would reset every quarter or two. It would have one time only unique rewards for season winners, as well as unique rewards of lesser value for say something for like top 5%, 10%, 20% of the sandbox's ladder ratings. And to appease the people that just suck and want a trophy for participation, add something that is obtainable threw points, "I.E. you get 1 point for each arena played" "giving them a bone". Something that's not unique but of value like 100 points will give you a x-type or something to that effect. This would really drive pvp to a new level, as ladder's are always great fun and creates tons of stories and competition if done right, and the sandbox we live in is perfect because everyone can see who is #1 or #1000

To make it easy for CCP to implement, they could have them on separate nodes, that is say qued up from a major hub. And to keep the whole once it's dead it's gone effect that we all love, the ship that you just put together in jita is now saved and entered into que, one you join que your ship magically goes from your hanger in jita to the pvp hanger, of course if your ship dies you'll need to buy a new one, but if your the winner same loot drops apply, which then gets saved of course and can be brought back to the eve server.

If you think this is a good idea please have your friends to reply to this post. If you don't agree with a PvP Arena then also state why you think it's a bad idea. The more that reply, the more CCP pays attention.

Weak... That's like saying when i drive to work in the morning it's just like competing in the Formula 1.

The OP was talking specifically about competitive arena style PVP with strict parameters and rules. If that has no place in eve, then alliance tournament shouldn't exist.

If you want rules guided mutually agreed PvP , join a Wormhole Corp.

We get lots of it.... and a lot of the other sort as well.

I die a lot though, but I've yet to see any of the WH Corps renege on an agreed fight once terms are finalized by the FC's
