was looking over the forums and used the search and found only a couple of topics covering the methods of extracting the ships to blender. how ever... since the new software upgrades and formats, it is apparent that the tutorials and discussion of obtaining the ships to "play with" , in blender are no longer valid and obsolete. ( i noticed the file hierarchy is different than a year or more ago.)

SO.. i point this Question to the Eve Online DEVs , is this still doable? can we obtain the new format of ships that have been made?
are we Allowed somehow to export them to a 3D modeling program such a blender ?

I know that TriExporter works with new ships, as seen here it can view the new Panther model just fine linky

It can export to the following formats:
- .x
- .obj
- .3ds
- .my
- .vbo
- .a3d
- .fbx

hope that helps!

Technically speaking, exporting game assets from Eve is still against the EULA.
What I will say is that CCP tends to turn a blind eye for Machinima purposes and that this thread /should/ be in the Technology Forum not Features and Ideas.

Ditto, a google search can provide you with whatever you need for triexporter. It can be a little wonky and there's multiple versions floating about. The granny format EVE uses requires triexporter to have an updated dynamic link library(granny2.dll) to export properly. You should be able to find via google what ever else you need from what I've just stated if you run into any problems.

iv looked at the (old tutorial--2013 and back) and it shows a file path to were the models *Should be**
with the current file path this leads now to a dead end were the ships USED to be.

I just did it with an up to date client and version .5 triexporter. It's all there under the dx9 directory.
