EXPLORATION (COMBAT SITES) LOOT ?

Hi everyone,

I've recently started running combat sites in Hi-sec and I have looted 1 A-type hardener out of 10+ combat sites. So I began to wonder one thing :

Where is the loot in Combat sites ???

To loot my a-type thing I had to destroy a pirate building to reveal a cargo container.

1/ Does this mean that loot always comes from buildings you have to destroy ? If this is the case, what particular buildings should I look at, or should I just destroy every single building (quite long since there are many arrays and such :s) ?

2/Or do the rats in there drop loot too ? And if so should i be looting every single wreck or looking for specific ships to loot from ?

Your best bet is to google the particular site and look at the Eve Survival writeup. They are very clear about triggers and who the loot droppers are.

You mean you don't just blow up every pirate structure you encounter? What are you, some kind of pirate sympathizer? Some kind of no-fun-allowed efficiency freak?

Bear in mind ded rated combat sites have no escalation and have the deadspace overseer and hence deadspace loot roll right where you first found it, where as unrated combat sites only have the deadspace roll at the end of the escalation, which may not occur and may break along the way if it does occur.

Also bear in mind that if its a drone encounter, its probably terrible.

I usually check Eve Survival for intel on missions and check Evelopedia for intel on Exploration sites.

As for the loot drop, some of the exploration sites will have the loot in a structure and some of them will have an Overseer / Faction NPC spawn that drops the loot.

For structures, it will be a large one with a specific name. Sometimes attacking these structures will trigger the spawn of an Overseer / Faction NPC that holds the loot.

Sometimes when the structure or Overseer / Faction NPC is destroyed, the site will escalate and trigger an expedition which gives a chance to gain more loot, up to 4 different stages.

It's best to just expect no loot drop or escalation when running exploration sites. That way you won't be disappointed when nothing happens, which is the majority of the time.
