Bounty Hunting is Alive and Well in Aufay

After my previous realizations that actually trying to stop The New Order would be far more effort than would be fun, and not to mention not very profitable, I decided to evacuate my Manticore from Aufay and replace it with, somewhat ironically, a cheaply-fit Catalyst. Not a gank blaster-fit mind you, but a fast-locking, mobile rail-fit. While I'm not so inclined to gank hapless freighters in hisec at the moment, I did see quite an opportunity to make money from the activities of TNO.

This evening, I spent ~2 hours in Aufay, jumping between gate to gate, watching for ganks to unfold so I could collect some bounties. After not too long, I get an invite from a CODE. member (loyalanon) to join them on voice comms. I decline at first so that I can put my daughter to bed (real life always trumps Internet spaceships), but when I get back, I join up. What I found was rather surprising.

Having spent some time in a nullsec alliance in my previous time in EvE, I'm familiar with what a well-run op sounds like. The CODE. operation in Aufay is such an op. While in station waiting on timers to wear off, comms were funny and laid back, but once they had a target, the chatter stopped and everybody worked in an organized manner. It's a very efficient operation. These folks are not the violent sociopaths that their targets take them for. They're just looking to have a good time, even if it is at other players' expense.

They didn't seem to have a problem with me collecting bounties as long as I didn't get in the way. In fact, they all but invited me too. I have a feeling that even had I been trying to interfere, they would have just laughed it off or, at worst, ganked me too. I did get shot at a few times, but given that I was keeping my distance, no serous damage was done. I don't hold this against them; I was a neutral on the field, so I was fair game.

One interesting thing about this evening was the presence of a large number of "White Knight" players on both gates in Aufay trying to protect TNO's targets. They brought a mix of DPS, jammers, and logistics. While they did manage to delay the death of one Obelisk, whenever TNO undocked with a freighter in their sights, that freighter died.

By the end of the night, they had invited me to start ganking with them. Given my skills, and my preference for flying gank Thoraxes solo in losec, the offer was, and still is, tempting. But, for now, I will remain content to collect the bounties placed on them by those they gank. It would be foolish not to, because over the course of 4 ganks, I made a cool 100mil ISK in a cheap-fit Catalyst by doing nothing more than targeting a bunch of ships that were already going to die and firing a few times from a safe distance.

Thanks for the content CODE. and The New Order. It was fun, and I'll be back again.

Great having you in comms with us to.

Its always nice showing people the real side of Code, and that we arent - real life murderers/rapists/torturers/bullies/cyberbullies/people who should die slow and painfully/people whos mothers have relations with the gank target etc etc

You get the idea.

Happy to have you again next time!

CODE. fixed the bounty system.

I would like to offer my thanks to James 315 for this tremendous accomplishment. We did it! We really did it!

Evemail me or convo me in-game to inquire about my honest and ethical ISK doubling services! If you're in Jita, stop in and say Hi! ;) :D

So many New Order supporters and pilots used to be rebels. They came to our side, not because we have cookies (although we do), but because we actually have fun playing Eve. We're not bitter and don't degrade other players. Just have fun, spout pseudo-religious stuff in local, and blow things up. We have fun doing what we do. The AFK players don't have fun, because they are AFK.

Every knows the TNO is made up of mostly Goonie alts. They stink of GOON. The popped up right around the time Burn Jita happened. They aren't your typical group of gankers.

I try to be nice and mind my business just shooting lasers at rocks. There is just way too many asshats in New Eden for that to happen.

I used to have that problem, but then I learned this one weird trick, and now they don't shoot me any more. Convo me for details.*

Can we convert those costs to isk? in game payments are so much more manageable.
