I have a med min POS setup, my question is what is a good battery setup. It's low population area, just passer byes. I currently have Ballistic Deflection Array, 1 Citadel Torpedo Battery and 6 med. art. If anyone has a link to a good defense setup please share.

Rip all the crap off it its clear you have no clue city torps are just lol

If your in hsec i find plenty of shield hards and ECM (thats jammers not sensor damps) just make it a difficult target to take down so most people wont bother (if you add a bit of tackle in there and have a fleet to defend it with pos gunners it makes it even harder to remove.

Low and nullsec is worse for you as a med tower is easy to take down with a few dreads that you cant jam out soo unless you plan to buy a large tower and death/resist star it fit cheap

Me not having a clue is pretty much why I asked the question. Now that you figured that out.....

I'm on my fourth POS.

I started with a hisec medium Dread Guristas. I tore it down after a month because I outgrew it, and because realized how weak it was.

I replaced the medium with a large Domination (back when the BPC still dropped) in w-space. I tore it down because I realized how much ISK I had floating in space. The tower sold for 2.2b Shocked I think I paid 900m to build it with a BPC.

I replaced the w-space Domination with a regular Caldari in hisec, but I have since changed corps.

I have another large Caldari in hisec now.

In my opinion, go large or just forget the whole idea.

To learn how to fit a POS, I recommend reading every post of: POS Setups: Jump Bridge/Cyno Jam/Reactions, Moon Mine/Mining, Labs, WH. Pretty much all you need to know is in that thread, like why POS missiles suck (they go offline when reinforced, plus look at the damage multiplier and rate of fire compared to turrets), and why you should use projectiles on all but Amarr towers. Heck, I even posted how much ammo projectile turrets hold.

Lastly, sensor damps are not useless. They use HALF the power of ECM so you can fit 2 for every ECM they replace. Sensor damps help protect your ECM and other defenses from being sniped from long range, because the damps negate a sensor booster on a ship. Do not rely on sensor damps alone though! Sensor damps and ECM also have 1.601 million HP; incapacitating them first means less damage on the tower, increasing the time to reinforce. I have 14 sensor damps and 24 faction ECM on my POS.

If you want help setting up a POS, you need to point out two important things, where your POS is (hi-sec, low-sec, null-sec), and what you want to use it for (as this will dictate how much spare CPU/PG you would have for defences.

What you fit will change on the above.

Hard to answer, it depends on many things.

In highsec I'd use something like 4 medium arti and 8 small ac setup, if enough grid is available.

In low/null/wh i'd go for a large pos.

edit: thanks for guide Tau, gonna read it carefully Blink
