First off, sorry it has been so long since i have updated you all. RL and my laziness got me there a bit.

The tentative plan:

Friday Aug 29

If your travels bring you to the area this night Rafe Collins and DomanarK of Clueless Space Nerds will be hanging out at Mickey Finns Pub in Des Moines, IA. This is located on the Northwest side of Des Moines. Address: 7020 Douglas Ave.


Saturday Aug 30

We will meet at the Hessen Haus located in the Downtown Des Moines area. Address: 101 4th Street
Good German style food and lots of beer choices.

We will get to the restaurant around 6 pm {local time} and get a spot secured for group. So bring you appetites, your drinking hats and your EvE stories with you and we will have some fun.


Motels in the area:
Best Western in West Des Moines rates around 90$ 515-221-2345
Days Inn in West Des Moines rates around 80$
These are good options if you are coming from west or south.

Baymont Inn in Des Moines rates around 66$ 515-265-4777
Good option if you are coming from the north or east.

Hoilday Inn Downtown Des Moines rates around 120$ 515-243-9132
Good option from any direction. A little more expensive, but very close to Hessen Haus.

I am from the Des Moines area, currently reside in West Des Moines, and will be there both nights with bells on. If anyone has any questions at all about stuff to do in the area, or good places for food and drink, I will be more than happy to provide answers.

Totally just found out about this from facebook. I'll definitely try to make it one of those nights. I only live a bit over an hour away from Des Moines so lodging shouldn't be an issue.

Which night or nights are you planning on attending? I will do some checking for you. The smoking room may be problematic, but you are a goon, so do rules count? :-)

As we are a few days away now, any updates on the schedule? How are we to identify each other at Mickey Finns? And for my CFC brother, I could point you to some very questionable sleeping establishments on the bad side of town that are sure to have smoking rooms, but I wouldn't even recommend them places to my worst enemy.

Random McNally and I along with Hans are leaving out of the Twin Cities in just a few hours. We should be down there around 7pm ish.

Hope to see a bunch of Space Nerds down there this weekend 0/

If a few of you are around on Sunday morning, maybe we can hook up for some brunch somewhere before heading out of town. Just hit me up at any of the meetup places and we will get something scheduled.
