Oh that thread.

I had cancer myself when I was young and found nothing wrong with that joke. It was a long, but entertaining story. Probably more than was needed to make the point, but nothing to take seriously.

Yep, the right answer is always in a CCP quote.. maybe it's just Help chat fatigue but I find people providing incorrect information as if it's an answer as disruptive. It's not hard to look up this information before posting, is it?

I have Asperger's. Constantly struggling to decipher social interaction. Can't for the life of me see how making a comment about getting cancer from a forum post is fine, but arguing against it is not.

The smart thing to do about a post you perceive* as offensive is either ignore it or report it.

Arguing against it is pointless, imo.


*Perceive is the important word. Tbh, I thought it was a bad post, too. But other people may perceive it differently, and there's a good chance the poster was just unsuccessfully trying to be witty, with no intention to offend anyone.

This is what I mean. Everyone's life has some terrible things happening in it, some more than others. It's perfectly human to have a negative reaction to reading something.. it might touch a nerve. But reading Domanique's joke I don't think she's talking about the terrible thing that happened to you. She's making a joke and different people get different reactions to it (I didn't think it was funny, some other people did).

You're on the Internet where people say random insensitive things. You don't have to let those things touch your memories. If you have to make your point then make it.. it's good to let your opinion known. But my question to you is.. if you have to keep making your point over and over.. how effective do you think it is? Is more sensitivity on EVE GD really a crusade you want to put yourself behind? Aren't there other more important causes you could back..?

My point is, at some point the perception of your post becomes less about the original joke, and more about you. Your family member's cancer I believe should never be a topic of wide discussion especially on a forum like this. It is the nature of heated threads like this where focus switches just like that.

It's just not worth it. Take a breather and check out another forum topic, I say.

There's also no conspiracy regarding me and why my threads rarely get locked or trolled.
I never was in Hek. Actually I'm 23 years old, savant and work for the CIA.

Not to mention that I have spiey in every bigger alliance and multiple corps throughout Metropolis,
mostly concentated in corps based in Hek. I have no degree. I'm no famous con artist who can't
