Buying PLEX doesn't monetize isk. They still have to get real money from their customers somehow. Transferring PLEX seems to me to be easier for CCP to monitor than transfers of isk, since there are fewer transactions to sift through, and hence, more opportunity for the PLEX dealer to get caught.

Added: As to your comment on dropping PLEX in space, that screams RMT to me. It'd be trivial for CCP to log all such events.


Indeed, laundering via dropping things in space and someone else picking them up has been tracked since the early days of EVE, and is not a loophole. I've heard plenty of stories of (self-believed) clever folk trying this and getting caught.

I didn't want a discussion on how to laundry ISK or PLEX into RL cash. My point is that PLEX are the best market item to do with.

Doesn't matter how much plex cost when with passive activities you can monthly buy for months of free to play.

It's about how much isk I get from plex, and has long has price rises I'm not selling until it hits the amount I want from it.
1.5 year back you could buy plex for 150M isk, now it's 500, I'll wait a few months more.

Keep stocking isk to buy my plex latter plz, thx.
