Keep seeing it around. What is it a reference to?

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear.

You should probably GOOGLE that

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

Built by CCP

CCP had some bad press recently, most notably in an article by the Guardian which detailed issues in the management of the company, with one notable quote where an un-named manager, evidently unable to clearly express his desired direction, resulted in direction by onomatopoeia .

'needed more.... PSSSSSHHHH'.

And, of course, everyone not directly involved thought that this was hilarious.

PSSHHH is kinda like flair. But it's also like panache, with a little bit of razzle-dazzle and bada-boom, along with some oomph and some zippety-zap.

Can you link the article? I cannot find it online at all....

In relation to this thread, it's the quiet sound of the key turning in the lock.

In relation to the article, it's here:

Big smile Oh I was going to do this OP title but you beat me to it. Not that I don't know what it refers to. Blink

If you type 'The Mittani' into your search engine and click on his blogsite there are a couple of articles on there with further links. One is about the Guardian article on how CCP bought White Wolf with a view to making the World of Darkness MMO and how it all ended up. The comments for the Guardian article are fairly sympathetic on that issue. It's obviously not an easy task to develop a new game/MMO.

The second article on the Mittani's blogsite refers to the recent layoff at Reykavik of about 49 CCP staff including at least a couple who were instrumental in the workings of the CSM. CCP is saying the layoffs are with backline sort of staff but the are a number of notable players in the list as well. With other recent departures at CCP of good guys such as Unifex, Dr Eyjo, Dolan etc etc it doesn't look good.

The 'psssshh' you refer to in your OP refers to lack of vocabulary by managerial staff at CCP and is mentioned in both of the blogsite articles. This whole situation sort of reminds me of the hacking/News International situation in the UK and maybe Ricky Gervais 'The Office' programme as well. So ****** up.

My personal experience of management where I work in the Royal Mail is somewhat similar I'm afraid to say. Bullying and intimidation along with a lack of respect for us posties is rife and they continually find a way to make the job more ****. So CCP isn't probably an acception to the rule but just the norm. Of course with CCP I don't mean bullying and intimidation but just bad decision making. Royal Mail bought a number of other foreign courier firms up years ago and also temporarily tried to rename themselves as Consignia. It all went t*** up with a number of the firms not being viable and a change back to Royal Mail name.

Same **** - different day. Roll
