I'm a Police Sergeant, I've been in law enforcment for 16 years and I play way to damn much EVE. I told this story in alliance TS once and guys loved it:

One day I was working an overtime gig at a college basketball game and a fight broke out on the court, then the benches emptied , then spectators got invovled. Hell, even cheer leaders were fighting. It was me, 2 other guys from my department, a couple Deputy Sheriffs, a State Trooper and an officer from a neighboring town. It was chaos, fists flying 2 and fro, the game officials over run and 7 widely spread out and uncoordinated LEOs. I'd just been promoted to Sergeant in my department, but not only that, i'd started FCing in Faction Warfare.

So what did I do? I fell back on my training, gathered what officers and refferres that were near me......and started calling PRIMARIES:

"Ok Ok guys, lets get us bettween the 2 benches. Get the Ball players seperated 1st, then the coaching staffs, save the parents and spectatoprs for last. Cuff anyone who resists".

It was fine till someone threw a chair, then the fighting started again so we had to back out, but on dudy officers were arriving so we had more people. After it was all said and done the trooprt came over and said "that snap organizing you did was excellent, where did you learn how to do that".

I lied and told him it was mobil field force (riot police) training, but I hadn't been to MFF training yet. No way I was gonna tell hit it was from flying internet space ships lol.

I'm a photographer at the moment. I own two photography companies, one for "action photos", meaning we take and sell pictures during live events(and sell clothing, which is where the real money is) and the other for "set photos" like picture days and weddings. I owned a third, but my brother-in-law ran it into the ground and I had to sell it off to recoup the losses. I'm also going back to school to get a Computer Sciences degree this fall.

I have been selling weed for the past couple years from my home on my reserve. That's how I make money for now.

My first professional Mixed Martial Arts fight is supposed to take place in September according to my coach and I'm hoping I can turn that into a career, hopefully without getting brain damage.

Pushing paper through bureaucratic machines. Ever read Kafka The Trial, Joseph Heller Catch-22, or Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland? It's kind of like that. If you took out the drama, building action, climax, denouement, and ending. Smile

Actually it's not that bad, there are interesting things along the way. I have to get people out of trouble, and the variety of things they can do to get into trouble is just beyond all imagining.

sometimes i wonder if there's something that brings active and ex-forces people to EVE....

police, firefighters, EMTs, army, navy, air force....

In a few moments you will have an experience that will seem completely real. It will be the result of your subconscious fears transformed to your conscious awareness.

I've met soooooo many military (current, reserve, ex and retired) and a bunch of emegency services/1st responder (police, fire, ems/medical) folks from different countries in my 7 years of playing EVE. I'd think it's different for everyone, but the things I do in eve are relaxing and let me blow off steam after a long day of being lied to by almost everyone I meet Cool
