I was in Rancer once, and happyly warping to the next gate, when that Rokh popped on Directional, then I saw the big, bright Light and my life was changed forever.

About time Rancer stopped being so safe.

Last time I was passing through there carrying blueprints it was so safe that I went and killed the rats in the top belt.

Last time I was there I got instalocked on gate while in my incurus, then popped instantly. The time before that I forgot to change clones and lost a full genolution set to a smartbombing rokh. I really need to spend more time in that system. Much better than FW.

Of course, careful/smart/adventurous players can still use the shortcut safely enough, if one would take the time to bounce celestials and/or make offgrig bookmarks. One should also be wary of other systems around Rancer, as one of my alts found out, smartbombers also like varietey and will switch systems from time to time. :P

We need someone to organize a frigate race in Rancer.

Rancer/Amamake are major shortcut systems for haulers/freighter pilots. They turn a long trip from Hek/Rens to Dodixie into a short trip.

Since they are in lowsec they naturally became a haven for scum and villainy. It's traditional for a pirate corp to lay claim to these systems and then charge a fee for safe passage. If the fee is too high the merchants take the long way around.

Recently the new hotness is to set up afk smartbombing battleships and just murder everybody coming thru the gate. And so it goes.

As for HED-GP it used to be a heavily used pipe into null (it borders hisec). Last time I was there it was pretty quiet. There are others that are much more active (like the legendary EC-P8R....)

All this talk about Rancer is making me whatever happened to Cat O'NineTails and the Rancer Defense Force

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.
