Friends, lots of them.

You do realise that GSF, one of the major components of the CFC, managed to get their foothold in null by throwing T1 frigates, destroyers and cruisers at their numerous, and powerful, enemies, right?

It's still PvP, by definition. Unless the miner is in fact, a bot and not a player.

I don't even agree with the notion that EVE is unfair.
Everyone has access to all of the same tools, and everyone starts out the same.

That's not really a gank — that's a bug.

Ability to fight back is in not even remotely a factor. If a player engages in some action against another player, it is PvP — that's what the term means: “player vs. player”. If he does so with guns, it's combat. If he murders somebody, it's a police matter and rather beyond the scope of this discussion. The only way for miner ganking to not be PvP is if the miner is a bot, and even then it's debatable since it's still a player character rather than an NPC or some other environmental opposition.

Oh, and none of your quotes have been edited, so stop with the inane mewling.

…this is really the key part. You can always fight back. The problem lies in the degree of passivity that makes you think that the fight starts when the attacker locks on and presses F1. That's not where it starts, though. That part happens at maybe three-quarter mark through the fight.

If you won't take the steps needed to fight back, you lose. That's hardly a surprise and is, if anything, exactly how it should be.
