Command Ships and Gang Links-Fix

So when is CCP going to address the completely superfluous Tech 2 ships known as command ships?

There are at least two ways that I see to help make the current meta game of cloaky alt Tech3 boosters:

1. Give Gang Links a proximity bonus. Closer (or Optimal?) = more boost.

2. Remove the ability for Tech 3s to fit Gang Links. they are already have Nullified, cloak, web and DPS boosts (granted, at high costs), do they really need to make an entire ship type obsolete, too?

I don't know about you, but as a T3 pilot that MMJD has me scratching my chin and wondering if I don't want to move into a CBC....

Alla dem non-combat required skills though.... That's the only reason I haven't done it already....

Maybe if the skill requirements were changed to only have the leadership skills relevant to the bonuses the ship gets, and the rest were combat oriented, I'd be motivated to move that part of my training up to say.... Tomorrow....

I'm fine with Command Ships being hella specialized...T3s have five subsystem skills too (granted, theyre like Rank 1).
And the MMJD certainly seems like the Cmd Shps might benefit from the evasion tactic, but it still puts the booster in some dead space, probably, unless some Proximity bonus is implemented. Makes an awfully boring way to play.

That's not a problem with CBC's, that's a problem with off-grid boosting being too advantageous not to use.

Fix off-grid boosting.

Edit: That is to say that proximity is a very broad term and can be interpreted in AU's, not km's.

I agree, if you fix off-grid boosting, you will stop seeing T3 boosters, they are too fluffy (when configured for boosting) to be in a battle.

I know it has been stated in a Dev Blog some time ago that boosting skills would be getting revamped soonish, we might see some changes at that time.

I keep saying that "fixing" OGBs without giving skirmish a fast ganglink ship with decent tank will break skirmish.

MMJDs screwed kiting mechanics over enough.
