I used the clone maker to make 3 clones and use them for my 3 accounts. Now none of the clones will respond in any way.

--Do they need to be remade?

--Is this expected behavior?

--How do I move my Interface setup so I don't have to rebuild everything after this patch?

10.9.2
2.7 Intel Core i5
6GB 1333 DDR3

*Just to clarify, everything else seems to be working fine, if slowly. I can undock and dock, station was camped, stuff was happening around me, didn't impact my game client at all.

Trying to create new Software clones gives this error from the Clonemaker:

cp: /Applications/Eve Online Main.app//Contents/Resources/Eve Online.app/Contents/MacOS/cider: No such file or directory.

Is this software broken or is the link broken? The 2 slashes in the file location don't look right.

Now the main Eve software package won't launch at all, has no icon, I get nothing from double clicking it. Awesome. I have a feeling this "patch" was tested pretty much not at all on Macs.

Terminal fixes didn't work. Now I am re-downloading the game client... again...

Wish I could have fun with everyone else today. Most of the actual content was removed from this "patch" and pushed back to the next one, is this what Mac players can expect with the new release paradigm? Two big releases and their associated issues would be one thing, but if this is what we have to look forward to 5+ times a year then I'm concerned about the quality of the software being developed, and how interested I'm going to be in troubleshooting issues that should have been found internally for software I am paying a subscription to use.

I do not want to deal with this kind of stuff every other month.

Could you try the following please?

1. Open Terminal (From Applications > Utilities).
2. In the resulting Terminal window type the following then hit ENTER: "open Library"
3. You should now have the Library open in a finder window, find the folder called "Application Support" and open it.
4. Find the "EVE Online" folder and open it.
5. Find the file called "config". Rename it to something different like oldconfig.
6. Run your TQ Launcher
7. Attempt to log in to TQ.
8. Repeat for all clones.
8. Success or Failure? Post in this thread please.

Thank you for replying, but you may want to read the rest of my posts CCP Sledgehammer. Terminal fixes didn't work, already tried.

I had the same issue. I just tossed the old clones and made new ones. That worked fine. You do NOT need to toss the prefs files.

Trying to make new clones is what broke my client. I was able to login to the main client after patching but got no response from Clones. Tried to make new Clones, then the app broke completely. No app icon, just the generic package icon, no response on launch.

Hi,

what i use for 2 clients on my mac is the following:

start laucher--> login --> start game in fullscreen

switch back to desktop

go back to laucher --> switch id --> login with next id --> start game

this works at least for 2 accounts with no additional install at all.

Yeah clones stopped working for me too. I use them since my other clients became corrupted in a previous issue.

I've moved the contents folder from my clone into my normal client to replace that contents folder, so that's just giving me a blackscreen now on start up.

So just running EVE Repair now to see if it fixes it.

Still blackscreening, I guess I'll have to reinstall my entire client Ugh

My clones are working fine now after reinstall of the game client, but when I undock I'm freezing up. I just undocked a Cov Ops Hauler and froze up outside a station in Catch. Not exactly expecting that to end awesome.

I'm docked back up, thankfully. Whats up with the freezing on undock? Any recommended steps for resolution?

For what ti's worth, I tried CCP Sledgehammer's advice a couple times and it didn't work. TBH, I could have made a mistake.

I then tried Vincent's suggestion of killing the clone apps and remaking them. That appears to have worked. I've undocked and jumped a couple times. Things appear normal.

I didn't have to re-install anything.

Remaking the Clones worked for me too.

I made a backup of my settings folder (/Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/[eve clone name]/p_drive/Local Settings/Application Data/CCP/EVE/c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility/settings)

Then I deleted the clones from the Application folder. I also deleted the clone folders at /Users/[username]/Library/Application Support.

Afterwards I recreated the clones and they started up right away Cool.

To get my settings back I just replaced the newly created settings folder with the one from the backup.

Works like charm. Big smile

Posting in case anyone else runs into this problem...

I was getting the following error under 10.9.3 when trying to use the Clonemaker:

Quote:
"EVE Clonemaker" is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash.

I was able to get a working clone by doing the following:

  1. Right-click on EVE Clonemaker and choose Show Package Contents.
  2. Open Contents -> Resources -> Scripts.
  3. Option-drag main.scpt to the Desktop.
  4. Open main.scpt in AppleScript Editor and run the script.

Now I have a working clone. Yay.
