I think that cultured responses on the forum and in game are not universal. Too many masks, too many trolls, all I know is that I can control my actions wherever I am and regardless of whether or not it is in person or on here, I will carry myself with pride and respect those around myself.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear.

I'm generally nicer on forums than in real life. Or let's say, I try to express myself more clearly and try to avoid irony and sarcasm, as they can be hard to detect in writing.
What may be friendly bantering with friends in real life could be easily misunderstood as offending here.

That said: Some of those guide lines in that article have a good ring to them, and aren't specific to the eve forums as well. They also seem mostly like common sense.

It's a good article and it's accurate.

My question is: Should we require such tip-toeing in the first place? Or is it a fundamental flaw of the forums that is still not addressed?

These are same people who eat at Mc Donalds 3 times a day everyday for months on end and wonder why they are fat...

The same people who require warning messages such as

Hair Dryer - Do Not use in Shower
Pepper Spray - Do not spray in at your own eyes
Clothes Iron - Do not iron clothes on body
Slush Puppy Cup - Ice may be Cold
Chainsaw - Do not attempt to stop chain with hands

and so on

Know a guy (Well several actually) who did that on basic to quickly fix up things. The one guy however.... Used steam, not a dry iron, and burnt himself nicely.

I'll challenge anyone here saying the eve o forums are the same as any other to go on the battlefield 3/4 GD forum for a quick browse, then come back here and say it again.

My lawn mower has a sticker that says "Warning!! Do NOT stick hand in mower deck while blade is engaged." Makes me wonder, was it really that much of a problem that they needed to have a sticker there.

My Bic lighter has a sticker "Warning, do not light near face." WTF? How am I supposed to light my cigarette?

If you're bumping his post you can't bump anyone else's.

I have powerful friends in C&P who are on their way here RIGHT now. Cool

Edit: I love TMC, but occasionally they let a bad article like this slip through. It was so cringeworthy I couldn't even finish it.
