But I do feel that RAW23's clinical assassination of Blueprint Seller was pretty telling. With the underlying shill character totally discredited, he then had total traction on any accusations he cared to make about Speculation Dave.

I missed this thread! Dave got another go after failing to fill the previous bond? Say it ain't so ... I thought I had done the work on that one. All the investor needed to do was read the last link Dave provides in the OP here Ugh

(edit - Looking at the previous thread, someone actually offered Dave 2 bil there after my post! Perhaps I was too indirect and equivocal about a direct accusation?)

Looks like the guy decided to cash out on his rep. The days of uncollateralized loans are really coming to a close.

Dave's rep should already have been flushed. This has nothing to do with uncollateralised loans, per se, and everything to do with investors ... again ... failing to take the most basic steps to protect themselves.

I would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for RAW23's advanced eyebrow analysis techniques.

We have you in our database now, punk. You will never set foot 100 AU near MD with those eyebrow again.

That's a seriously scary image and will haunt my dreams but the eye-brow match is better than I imagined. I thought that was intellectually the weakest part of the analysis on Blueprint Seller whilst at the same time being the most satisfying from an intuitive perspective. I'm still wondering if there was some role-playing going on with that one, with Bobby deliberately designing a character that looks like BB in disguise or after surgery, or whether there was just a subconscious leaning towards that look.

Yeah, I had 25B of public isk in my hands on that one. Big smile

But I wouldn't have been able to live with scamming you or VV. So I had to roll the dice some more.

This makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

I base all investment decision on eyebrow analysis, after witnessing the power RAW23 wields with his expertise.

Thank you, sir. We will defeat these criminals with the Bureau's modern techniques of investigation and your visionary leadership.

I hope there was deliberation involved, or else BB has some serious issues with his definition of beauty.

Maybe it's less about the money itself (I get the impression that BB isn't going to care much about 20bil one way or the other) and more about amusing himself by seeing how hard he can scam while leaving not-so-subtle tells on his characters.

In this case, dirt and face herpes are in the eye of the beholder, blocking his vision during the character creation process and causing him to create leprechaun / creepy uncle type avatars.

No offense, BB.

It's much the same as choosing to solo PvP in a notoriously bad ship without scouts or links in order to increase the challenge and thrill. You are not forced to make things hard for yourself, but even somewhat mundane victories become all the more impressive and enjoyable if you do.

I think this is particularly relevant nowdays when there isn't really any auditing going on and good critical analysis is scarce. The barriers to MD scamming are set quite low and the most significant problem you have to overcome is that there isn't much investment activity... a problem for legitimate borrowers and scammers alike.

I wouldn't advise relying too much on eyebrow analysis, because I can click the randomize button just as easily as anyone else!

Breachers are awesome, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

You should come back and help RAW23 and I deal with the terrible infestation of frenchmen he's currently suffering from.
