It will have been seen don't worry. maybe it will become a 'little thing' a patch or two down the line.

EVE FAQ "7.2 CAN I AVOID PVP COMPLETELY? No; there are no systems or locations in New Eden where PvP may be completely avoided"

Daichi Yamato's version of structure based decs

You won't get a Dev response, especially if you ask for one. They largely only reply to their own threads, or threads with a less than serious tone. Occasionally they will say something in a thread they have interest in, but not often.

It's a good idea. I support it as well.

It's not done now because packaged and stacked items are considered a single item with a counter rather than multiple items by the database. So when you drop the item in the fitting window, it creates and fits the unpackaged version the item, and depletes the counter by one.

This is why there is no individual data saved with packaged items, preventing you from packing damage items, and not allowing things such as manufacturer labels or individualized stats.

well thanks for the reply, at least i know i had one of these good ideas, it's a little annoyance really. but imagine ALL of the little annoying things you can find could be fixed ASAP, the game would improve and be a bit more intuitive..

can't say i didn't try tho ;)

Not that it's not more annoying, but you can unpackage a stack and then fit them all at once, or you could try just splitting a stack and trying it that way.

Annoying no matter what. You can make partial saved fits, and if you have the stuff available it will just fit guns or whatever. I find myself swapping guns most often, given the huge difference between the effective ranges of rails vs. blasters, but it would work for any rack you wanted to set up.

I am not sure this would be that simple of a fix. You are talking about changes to the way items are handled in the database, which is at the very core of everything in the game. Might be adding a couple of lines of conditional code... might break everything. Hard to say.
