Kim is actually why we can't have nice things. Colour me disappointed. Not surprised, but disappointed.

I would like to vote this discussion for Executor of the Galnet. I don't think I've seen any thread that has covered so many topics so well and so deeply since I started reading here.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

Miss Osyn, is that ANOTHER double-entendre? You're very close to being over your quota...

Wouldn't be the first time, I could go all night.

Interesting post, IGS have been rather dull lately; being new here I wish to contribute with my thoughts on the subject.

Democracy it’s a morally invalid form of government that leads to mob slavery. Democracy is a system where truth and values are decided by popular vote, at the expense of rights and freedom.

A Gallente might argue “I believe in democracy, but there are limits! Not everything should be decided by a popular vote. Surely the right of an individual to live, or to be free from bondage, should not be decided by a majority vote" ... they cry.

Surely, indeed! The question of whether a class of people lives or dies should never be decided at the ballot box... they argue.

And I agree. But why do these Gallente then turn around and say that your right to property should be subject to democratic control? All rights are evidently not created the same: whereas some are not subject to the dictates of popular will, others apparently are. As we all know this being the catalysts of the divorce between State & Federation.

Since there is no such entity as ‘the public,’ since the public is merely a number of individuals, the idea that ‘the public interest’ supersedes private interests and rights can have but one meaning: that the interests and rights of some individuals take precedence over the interests and rights of others. When you speak of “the will of the people,” you cannot and do not mean all of the people. What you really speak of is the will of whichever group of people has the loudest voices, the most money, the greatest media support, or ultimately the strongest weapons. After all, once “Galleteanic” legislation is enacted, it is backed up by men with guns

At the bottom of the endless pile of paper work which characterizes all regulation lies a gun.

All of that being a fantastic demonstration of why the Federation is not, in fact, a democracy.

The gallenteans bring their crap about fashion, luxury and other crap even in serious discussion, which clearly states what their heads are filled with.
And this is why the Federation must be destroyed.

Look, I could bring 425mm rail, but I don't want to waste large ammunition for this.
Even 75mm railgun is a ship-class weapon, and I don't think any person can survive direct hit from it.

Well said, Mr. Shale!
I just want to add, that democracy is a system, where voice of janitor has the same weight as a voice of a scientist.
Running a society by mob rule is not humane, it leads to degradation and degeneration.

In order for society to be progressive and prosper, only the merited shall rule.

You know I think Diana might be awfully dissapointed when she realizes that her efforts in the Militia war zones do nothing, and that said war zone is a playpen for less than stable capsuleers where they can drool all over the carpets and spout inane crap at one another without disturbing the rest of us.

commander kim presents sufficient justification for war with the federation

meanwhile only one person in the entire conversation has actually addressed kim's concerns

everyone else either obfuscated or launched personal attacks

i have only been an observer of this summit for less than an hour and i am already sick and tired of you gallente rhetoricians and caldari supplicants

thus i have decided to enlist in the state militia

war is coming for you federation cowards - although im sure i wont see any of you loudmouths on the front lines aside from commander kim

Damn straight I'm not going anywhere near the frontlines. Now, when you go to resupply for ships and ammunition, you might find me doing a delivery or five. Keep that ISK handy.

Disappointed?
Tell it to crews of all the ships I have destroyed so far.
Tell it to those, who died in the wrecks, that I popped because my salvage crew were too far away to collect remains and make sure no one survived.
Tell it to dead clones and destroyed assets.

You know, traitor, I am pretty much content with what I do, while I keep killing criminals like you and like those, who serve criminal gallentean hegemony.
The less of you will remain - the sooner the State will win.

The State won't win. It can't win, any more than the Federation can "win," because the militia war can't be won. Both sides have on more than one occasion occupied the entirety of the other side's territory, and neither side have "won." The militia war cannot be won. It's not designed to be winnable. The war isn't even between the State and Federation's respective navies, it's between capsuleer militias - essentially paramilitaries who have been given a franchise. Militia members have no legal authority to do anything other than fight each other. They are not official representatives of their respective nations.

The only thing that seperates the militia war from any territory conflict between nullsec capsuleer alliances is that you get to wave an empire's flag while doing it.
