100mn tengu, still viable?

Morning all, Just a quick question as I've been sat around the forums for a while unable to play waiting for my flight back home and and wondering if its still viable to use the old 100mn tengu in solo PvP? Got a fear that ships like this that were once really quite awesome have become completely pointless with CCP's attempt to "Rebalance" every single ship in the game.

100MN tengu died out long ago, around the time of the HML nerf. The nerf, along with the new tendency for every ship to now have massively increased speed, means that the 100MN tengu is in a horrible place right now, considering how much you pay for it.

If you are looking for something similar, I've been told a 100mn HAM Legion is pretty terrifying solo, but your looking at around 1-1.2 bil properly fit.

The 100mn afk Ishtar has been (with geckos) getting a lot of interceptor kills lately. Does that count?

100mn HAMgu is all but bad. Given though it's not the same wether you try to keep people between 18-20km with a HAMgu or if you can kite *somewhere within 52km* in case of the old 100mn gu with old links.

I fly a 100mn HAM gu, haven't had any problems yet, but I've been pretty careful with my engagements. Heavy missiles took a pretty bad hit, but with good skills HAM's are pretty sweet. The 100mn gu in general isn't what it used to be, but considering it used to be OP as **** that's not such a bad thing.

Cheers guys good to know theres still a place for the tengu/HAM Legion in the world, Although I do miss the old OP Tengu :(

I was looking at the stats the other day in EFT. Still seems OP as ****. It can still shoot out past 70km with Fury loaded, while hauling ass at 2800 m/s and tanking between 700 to 2000 DPS forever.

You lost the 53km point though, and other ships receiving buffs is the bigger issue. Tenge was OP because it was decent when everything that wasn't a drake was pretty much ****. Also, the speed is a pale shadow of it's former glory + you now got to fit hams to get a fraction more dps than old heavies ( which also hit to 90k with furies).

Given how strong it still is, remember how OP it has been...
