The last "real" number of ever created characters I got from CCP was a few years ago, at that time it was around 12 million, so I wouldn't be surprised if that number is now closer to 14-15 million.

The numbers I have on eveboard is the number of pilots I've discovered so far Smile

Chribba, do you have any method to determine active pilots, as ones that are on currently subbed accounts?

Nope, only CCP can really get that info.

For the duration I've played (1.5 years) and created characters it's always scaled up the numbers on the file names.

About 1.5 years ago: core_char_93045473.dat
About 2 weeks ago: core_char_94679214.dat

so, 95 million?

Because its none of our business and its business-sensitive info anyway

If the graphs are accurate, then we've never had "60k+" logged in, and the last 4 years have not seen any statistically significant dip or increase in pilots logged in (i guess arguably a 5k dip in the last 2 quarters versus the previous 4).

I assume the "All Time" graph doesn't reach 60k because its a graph of weekly averages, not maximums. Though that would mean that 50k-60k players online were very brief and rare spikes. Which is kinda weird.

I've currently not seen above 35k players online for quite a while. Yet the graph lately looks about the same as it did during what I assume is the period we had up to 65k online. So it would seem what players we do have are logged in more often these days, while back when we had higher peak times they were brief peaks, and there were very low levels of players at non-peak times to balance out the graph? I don't remember any such wild daily fluctuations in population...
