Portraits in 1024x1024 from Singularity?

Hi! It's me! (:

Apparently http://imagetest.eveonline.com doesn't work anymore
and is the only thing I found using Google.

Yes, I use search engines.
Incredible, isn't it?!

Anyhow, what I'm talking about are the 1024x1024 renderings easily found on EVE Gate,
like this one here -> https://image.eveonline.com/Character/94662723_1024.jpg

Resolution goes down to 32x32 pixel. A complete set of midmaps. (_32.jpg, _64.jpg, etc.)
The smallest format I know that's in use is 128x128, like those on the forums.
Maybe you can point out where 32x32 and 64x64 are used?

The 512x512 ones get used in the game, when you click the small portrait on a characters info sheet.

The 1024x1024 ones can get accessed by looking at any profile
and clicking at the magnifier on the portrait.

All mipmaps are created from the high quality rendering from Tranquility,
which seems to take different amounts of time, but usually two hours.
Maybe it's load dependent, or maybe certain things take longer to render.
Maybe I'll do some more experiments about it.

Anyhow.

I have no idea how to access these images from Singularity.

If you could tell me how, I'd be happy!

Also, please, why can't we have 2048x2048 renderings?

I'd be willing to pay PLEX for higher quality renders.
You could call it ISK4CPU cycles, because I'd basically buy cpu cycles.

Thanks! :)

Let's face it. Most characters aren't pretty enough to warrant 2048x2048.

Which is completely true, but also completely irrelevant to the matter.

btw ... I love the colors on your portrait!

This blackredshiny is awesome!

And the background fits perfectly!
It's a great portrait! Well done! :D

The face is horribly unrealistic. :p

I don't think there is anyway to access the Singularity one's directly from outside the client.

From incident the client, screen capture and then cropping is what I've used in the past.

Too small. I have higher standards.

I don't remember Solstice Project being all gaga over EVE's female character creator.

Enjoying the rain today? ;)

That's because I wasn't.

If you recall the first iterations of this avatar ... I've improved a lot.

You can't imagine the possibilities without going throgh all these options.
The range of expression and emotion one can achieve with this is just ... mind blowing! :O

The achievable realism is incredible! O:

If you wanna burn your own CPU cycles I see no reason why not. I was a little confused when I realised you couldn't just keep zooming.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Please Note: Any advice given comes with the caveat that nothing will be suitable for every situation.

OK fair enough.

I thought you were after the 1024 x 1024 portraits.

If you right click on the portrait in client and select 'capture portrait', it will save out the 1024 x 1024 version and you can access it directly on your hard-drive.

Here for example is your portrait on SiSi capture this way:

https://flic.kr/p/nMyhon

That's the 1024 x 1024 original capture.

Sorry for misunderstanding your OP.

You kind of misunderstood that, but that's okay.

Wow, TRUE! I forgot about this! :O

Can't check easily if the portrait's updated, but it'd work! :D

Quoting my edit above so you can check, just in case your last post meant you weren't able to check easily at the moment.

I debate changing my portrait to my Singularity version: http://imgur.com/9KkEGn7

Would be cool to be able to save several "snapshots"of yourself so you can change your pic based on your mood for the day. It would just save the pose and camera, not all the accessories and whatnot. So even if you change your character's hair or tattoos, you still have the same poses saved.

I agree completely! :D

Why is she looking down onto others, as if they are lesser beings?

Lighting could use a change too. It's too doll for my taste ...

The left side of your screen, at the very top of the neocom.

Because they are!

Hmm. Tried playing on Singularity with the lights but it starts with my Traquility pose as the base. Arg. Can't be arsed to recreate the pose. When I try to save my mug from Singularity it gives me a pretty crappy quality JPG too for some reason. Not as sharp as when I do it on Tranquility or the forums. Weird.

Thank you! Picked up the shirt a year ago or so and haven't really ever found another set of clothes that felt right.

A-hah. The background is actually sort of a corp thing. We in game are Sansha Loyalists roleplayers, and the background is the most Sansha-y.

Example One. And Two.

The pictures you can download from eve-gate are all high quality renderings from Tranquility,
which take a time to get done.

I'd assume the delay is on Singularity as well.

Having access via a webserver would be much better,
because that'd allow us to check for HQ renderings without logging in.
