Player Features and Ideas Discussion

This is probably a touchy topic. As with any game with a broken mechanic, we will have folks who enjoy exploiting them.

As far as I can tell, the cloaky camper mechanic today does not match the re-balance attempts CCP is trying to bring to EvE Online. People afk cloak for days on end - being completely immune to any active attempts to find and exterminate them, while retaining the ability at any time, to hotdrop a poor sucker who decided to mine or rat or even fly the wrong PVP ship for the hotdrop fleet that is on standby.

What's the risk to the camper? Nothing. I don't have a really good suggestion for how to fix this. Perhaps some of you guys can suggest options. One idea i was thinking, maybe make cover ops cloaks consume some sort of cheap fuel at a slow burn rate. There should be some cost involved to the camper when he attempts a denial of service to a system. Also, his length of camping should be limited to his cargo hold capacity which forces an engagement eventually.

Perhaps you guys can suggest a more elegant solution. All I can say is, the current mechanic is busted and the risk vs reward is very heavily skewed.
