Guess the amount of grievers i the game have me a bit over edge. How safe is the fleet finder? Is this a viable means to actully for once get in a fleet or or is it just another gank tool used to lure out single target prey?

I have been trying to get into other aspects of the game besides runninging missions but seems the fleets just are not there. Not even duos. I have several corp private chats open all tring to recruite me full of the typical chat room chatter but when ever I mention anything about doing anything together, well lets just say untill EvE I didn't realize crickets could live in space.

I am starting to belive that every fleet I have seen to this day all consist of one guy and his alts.

But back to the point can fleet finder get me in fleets or is it just going to make me victim to more grievers ?

I was running L4s with a guys 1bil isk T3 within 10 minutes of talking to him in alliance chat in the first corp I found that was recruiting when I came back into the game. Same corp I was flying L4s with a pair of CNRs.

Keep trying, people are out there who either aren't quite so paranoid or just have the isk to replace anything that gets griefed.

Excuse me, but what the f*ck are you desu?

Sadly, I have to agree with the Fleet Finder being all but abandoned.

For lower level stuff it's not usually worth it to team up, and people that are into doing the higher end stuff probably already know people or are in a corp by then. So you just won't see much action in FF.

CCP should tweak the FF in their myriad patches. Make it safer to link up, and tweak the rewards for PvE when teamed up to make it harder/pay better. Mostly to get new players flying together, even for the low end content. Then the FF could even be used to find recruits for corps.

The FF could be great- letting people team up without committing to a corp and all that it entails (war decs, etc). For the casual player, the FF could be a godsend for playing with other people instead of solo work.

Using Fleet Finder to try to fleet up with random people? Not a good idea.

You want to get fleets...

1. Join a player corp and do stuff with them. If they are in an alliance, Fleet Finder can be used to fleet up with both corp and alliance pilots. At least it was the last time I was in a null-sec alliance, about a year ago.
2. Travel to incursions and fleet up there. Fleet Finder isn't used, but there are several chat channels where you can advertise to get into fleets. You change locations a lot, but it's worth the effort. When there aren't any high-sec incursions around, we sometimes fleet up for L4 missions or low/null sec PvP.

CCP cannot make it safer to link up -- players are the determining factor for that. Unfortunately, it's the luck of the draw whether your NPC starter corp is good for doing things together or not. Mine was, but others aren't. The starter corps that my two alts are in both have very active memberships. But they still don't use Fleet Finder.

I generally use the fleet finder to run open fleets for people I'm friendly with. It's not like "group finders" in theme park MMOs where you queue up to run dungeons with random strangers: someone has to choose to advertise their fleet in the fleet finder.
