I hate to say it, but the ONLY reason you have to grind 1.5 bill a month is because YOU pay in isk. It is your fault.

I feel no pity for people who complain about PLEX prices, because it's more people who buy plexes for $ that EVE needs, not the people who consume them.

Actually, for a robust Plex market Eve needs both. So, have a little sympathy. Otherwise, without purchasers using ISK, Plex becomes a useless concept with a value of exactly 0.

I'm sure you know this. Why you didn't articulate it, I don't know. Perhaps, you, like so many others in this game take every opportunity to find someone to complain about? IDK.

I run 6 clients at the same time with no problems on my computer. It's not a monster rig, either. There was a lot of trouble when Incarna came out - couldn't run more than 3 without overheating problems but now that's all gone. I reject your argument :)

If I log on to eve, it's on Sisi - although there's some nice stuff in the pipe, none of it is on TQ yet, so why bother logging on?

Having Skyrim to shorten the wait helps ofc...

So accounts online has reduced but actual amount of players may be almost same.

Yeah But as people do that, plex demand drops and the price also drops, thus increasing demand again, thus increasing price. Granted its gone oddly high at the moment, through mass market manipulation by super rich players and if I were a paranoid individual I'd say CCP would be able to do it as well. But tbh, there are players which have enough isk to do it.

Either way, it can't stay this high for ever, I play using $ though so it doesn't bother me, might even inject a cheeky billion into my wallet for $32

Even my older quad-core Phenom II w/ NVIDIA GTX 460 (single card) and 16GB RAM runs that many clients easily. The 64bit Win7 drivers are far better performing then the old WinXP drivers, after that it's just having enough RAM to keep everything from swapping out to the hard drive. Figure 700-900MB of RAM per instance.

(Just going from WinXP to Win7 64bit was enough to double my FPS across the board, especially when running multiple clients.)

Without being silly and declaring EVE dead, it is quite obvious that CCP are in some degree of trouble caused by strong competition in gaming generally and complete mismanagement over the last two years.

Crucible may not cut out all the rot, but it will put the brakes on the decline.

Time will tell once all the low hanging fruit is picked if CCP have the ability to deliver in large scale again. The problem for CCP is they used to build in response to increased players and subsequent emergent gaming. What will they build to now?

I neglected it intentionally. PLEX has inherent value. We could lose 90% of the PLEXers and still be okay. If we lost 90% of the cashers, we would not.

Estimates and logic.

What do YOU think would happen if CCP's income dropped by 90%?

Yes numbers are down, as being said that's partially because of some AAA titles that has been, or will be released in near future.

Second part goes to CCP's treatment of EVE and their general attitude towards to playerbase seen in past several months (years?) so a lot of people stopped playing or even unsubbed. Company is now trying to fix the damage, it does look like they are on the right path, but we'll see about it - trust is very hard to gain, yet so easy to lose.

It's the numbers EVE Offline has collected through the API, just presented in a way that makes for better comparison and remoing the noise normally introduced by not taking the patterns of weekdays into account (e.g. Sundays almost always being the most populated; Fridays regularly having the lowest PCUs, and Saturdays usually being fair approximations of the weakly averages).

There is a lot of reasons why the numbers are down, economic decline of the west, increased compitition, poor expansions. and in-game stagnation along with skyrocketing plex prices and so on. It's going to need more than graphical updates to turn this around, after all we need a reason to playing and right now there isn't any. A lot of people are just bored.

Actually I think the sharp rise in PLEX prices (apart from raw speculation) is what several others have stated.

There's a lot of more less bitter vets pondering getting back, they have phat wallet in EvE, are tempted but not sure about CCP yet.

So they keep their RL wallets closed, and are playing with their EvE ones.

There has also been several "How To Play EvE For Free!" guides pushed on the interwebs, leading lots of people to also keep their RL wallet closed.

Most people like the direction of the "New CCP", but most people wait for CCP to actually deliver. And not just on SiSI.

I'd guess that the real measure will be looking at both PLEX prices and PCUs in january.

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

Skyrim, MechWarrior 3, BF3, Saints Row 3....

I remember the 50k+ days, I haven't seen that since Tyrannis. I think if CCP would push all the -10 gankers back to null sec the bears would come back and we'd have target rich environments again.
