Since you are looking at haulers, balance the damn Nereus already!

I just don't even bother engaging them. They're not worth it, and the secret's out by now.

One of ours, ten of theirs.

Best Meltdown Ever.

No, it's just that your understanding of what was wrong with the Dramiel is, as I said before, rather childlike.

Much of Eve PvP revolves around the concept of one's "engagement profile": What ships your ship (and your current fitting) can engage, and in what circumstances. I used to fly a rocket-fit, tracking disruptor Breacher with an afterburner in FW a lot. If I entered a complex that had a Condor in it, odds are the Condor would be at kiting range, I would never be able to get close enough to scram him or apply damage, and I would die. However, if I was the one in the complex, and a Condor tried to warp in on me, I would be sitting right on the beacon and have him scrammed before he could ever make range, and now my superior tank and DPS would rip him apart.

The dramiel had amazing speed, great DPS, and good damage projection, which gave it an engagement profile that was borderline limitless. Even if a particular fight wasn't working out for it, its superior speed generally meant that it could just walk away unscathed.

By contrast, the Nereus is sort of a one trick pony: It doesn't have amazing DPS, it doesn't even really have an amazing tank. What it has, thanks to its cargohold, is an amazing amount of capacitor, which means it can run a neut, and tank small amounts of damage through an active tank more or less indefinitely. Yes, this gives it a pretty good position against close-range frigates, but that's about it. It's very slow and doesn't really have any answer to being kited, and its active tank can't hold up against even moderate DPS.

Frigates that die to a Nereus are piloted by idiots who didn't understand their engagement profile. That's it. Don't confuse, "I don't understand how to counter this thing," with, "This thing is overpowered." They are very, very different.

Why should a frigate be able to kill an Industrial?

The pre-balance Iteron V used to be able to take down Frigs, Cruisers, Dessies, and even Cruisers if the pilot wasn't too bright. And that was with just a lone gun.

The tears about being unable to kill a ship that's bigger than you, has far more HP than you, is just lol..

Also, it's not better at killing frigs than other frigs.. it's better at killing stupid people flying frigs stupidly, as well as other frigs. If you have any common sense, you never get close enough to it, and you warp out before the drones catch you.. But I guess that's not you..

Also, I'll add that, the reason people flew the dramiel is because the dramiel was AMAZING.

The reason people fly the Nereus is because it's actually not that good of a combat ship, which makes any kills you score with it extra hilarious.

If by "balance the Nereus" you mean "Give the other races similarly awesome industrials," I'm all for it.

I also believe that larger ships should not be able to field as much small drone power as smaller ships can.

FT Diomedes: "Reaver, sometimes I wonder what you are thinking when you sit down to post."

Frostys Virpio: "We have to give it to him that he does put more effort than the vast majority in his idea but damn does it sometime come out of nowhere."
