Hello Crime and Punishment,

I'm looking for some advice on a service that I would like to provide in the Universe; assassinations (via kill-right hunting).

Is this a viable service to provide in-game?

  1. Contact me in-game with the name of the intended target you would like to take revenge upon (probably keep it to H/L Sec only)
  2. Provide the 'Killmail' that provided you with a legal 'Kill-right' against said target.
  3. Negotiation of terms (such as 50% deposit, 50% on completion) or the full sum re-paid if incomplete (see below).
  4. Use 'Locator Agents' (which I am building relationships with) to identify the target location.
  5. Service would be provided on a GMT friendly schedule.
  6. Time-limit of one week to neutralise the target, or all money re-paid.

Please note that I am only looking for advice, and that I am a new player who may not fully understand the correct mechanics of the game. I hope to build a reputable service (the first few assassinations could be free of charge) to provide evidence and build a relative level of trust.

Anyway, I thank you for the input you may or may not provide, and thank you for your time.

You should learn the mechanics of the game before offering a service or it will fail.

Kill rights are pretty useless. Not always, but mostly. I do wish you luck.

Change the duration to negotiable, or default it to the length of the killright (one month maximum). During nnegotiations, give the option to establish a minimum value for the kill to count.

No matter how you do this, business will be slow, but it could be a good way to get some experience and lead into wardecs or other high sec merc work.

Good thing I have not yet started the service, but thank you, I'll remember those words.

Great advice, thanks Rhubarb. I've not started yet but I'll certainly be taking this advice on board for the future! Smile

Ways that you can also "prove" yourself is actually killing people with public killrights and going out and wardeccing.

Hey Cyran, good point!

I've submitted changes to my overview to show players who have public kill-right's against them, though in the past few days I am yet to find any pop up. Do you have any recommendations? Is there a channel that I could join?

Thanks!

Does not work like that.

The overview does not update immediately. You need to actually click on a guy to see if he has a killright. Then it will show in the overview.

On another note.

I would suggest you learn the game first. Kill some people with wardecs.

This has been said before. Killrights for the most part are useless. It is very seldom that you actually find somebody stupid enough to fly around with a killright in a nice big ship. You do find them and I have but I can count on my fingers how many in the past year. (Not counting the Killrights that people actually assign to me)

As has been noted, you can look for people with open killrights (and there is an overview setting that will show them in local or on grid), but they are pretty rare.

Almost anybody who gets open killrights on them quickly hops into a rookie ship and activates the killrights with an alt or has a buddy do it, then said rookie ship gets blown up. KR cleared, back to work.

Most open killrights are set at or about 10 million isk to activate. Anything higher (like, say, some guy flying around with open KR that cost 50-100 million or more ISK to activate), its either a scam or the person has no idea what they are doing.

Anything lower is pretty rare, and if you set KR open to anybody (global) for less than 10 million you just wasted the KR. At least setting it to 10-15 mill you get some money that way.

And this is in highsec; in low/null/WH space nobody cares about KR, for obvious reasons.

GL with your learning experience.

However as other people stated, i'd also recommend holding a tad off the service, and learn the ropes first.
I just looked you up on Zkillboard, and there's nothing to display. :(

If you need help though, just contact me in-game, and i'll see if i can help with anything.

Hey Cannibal, thank you for dropping in to share you're thoughts. I have done some reading and have a lot of respect for the skill you demonstrate in EVE. It's my hope that I can become a skilled 'solo' player and learn from what you do.

Thank you all very much for the feedback & advice you have provided.

I think it's a unanimous verdict, that the service should be put on hold while I improve my knowledge, understanding and experience killing others in-game.
