Indeed, it does.

When I recover my morale, I'll wander over to Jita and shoot the monument while flying a Moa. *sniffle* Because it's the last we'll see of the "so fugly it's beautiful in the same way that a fly regurgitating onto its food to digest it before lapping it back up is beautiful in Nature's special way" Moa that we've come to love/hate over the years. *sob*

/I need a hug

edit: Added images: Moa's wings now tuck in during warp. Forcefield bay door on port side. Problem gun mounts aligning with the movable wings.

How's the new Osprey/Crow?

The Osprey isn't changing, it still the body of a caracal porked up like a sumo wrestler, a partial Raven's wing glued onto the starboard, an exaggerated Merlin for a port wing, and a scarab beetle for a nose. I'm not sure how you could improve on that.

The Crow is now symmetrical. Think Klingon Bird of Prey sans awesomesauce.

Given that the Serenity was a consolation prize for losing the war with the Alliance, I'm not sure that would be a good thing.

New Moa is yet another Michael Bay edition, just like the scorpion. It's terrible, obvious and boring.

Yeah... I kind of feel the same way. Its ok to take some shapes from creatures. The Vexor looks like a shrimp, the Stabber looks like a dragon. But they don't go too far with it like the Scorpion. The new Moa does, it is too obviously a bird. Together with the Scorpion they are too tongue-in-cheek, too cute.

The scorpion is cute? Thats not the word I would be using.

Animalistic perhaps.

That isn't a bad thing. The Scorpion still fits in with the eve universe and given its purpose it looks the part as well.

You know whats a real disappointment? That damn Golem hull. Yes its still a bird, but its a damn ugly bird.

Once upon a time the Golem had a Raven hull and it looked good. Then it transformed into a plataduck. The end.

I put up one of my own just now to showcase all of the new and redesigned hulls, as well as show off the new animations.

I just hope they don't remodel the Blackbird... If there's something more EVE-like than the old Moa, it is the Blackbird.

I agree with you.

But just so you know, they're going to replace everything with more comfortable, generic, "cool looking" designs. I don't know if that's because the marketing department may be pushing some agenda to rake in (or keep) more players, or if they are trying to make the art department work less hours. Because mostly symmetrical 3d models take half the time to develop and are much easier to texture. Then again, if they had just used the old models as a basis it would have taken even less time. Maybe the art department just hates EvE's original style.

The new ship models are like pop music. They appeal more to the general public who likes something with a beat. But they lose the interest of crazy ****ers like me who like the unapproachable, unsettling, abstract **** that puts us on edge and leaves us guessing.

I'm not wowed by "eye-candy" and I'm not won over by moving parts that shift in warp. I want the weird stuff that inspires my imagination. Without that, this game has lost it's luster for me. While I appreciate many of the graphical improvements made to the EvE universe, this move to throw out iconic ship designs that captivated many of EvE's original player base has brought me out of my troll cave. Please let me pay money to buy my "ugly" ships back. Please just give them a high res pass and be done with it. Add vintage models to the NES (not the Nintendo Entertainment System, the New Eden Store you senile over-aged minmatar ape) or do something else to give us access to the models that appeal to us.

If you like any of the older ship models (original artwork) better than the redesign of your favorite hull and don't want them to be lost forever, support ship customization and this feature request.

Think of it this way, the Moa didn't abandon it's suitcase... it simply traded it in for two over-the-shoulder satchels. Smile

Actually the funny thing about the new crow/condor/raptor model.

In 2011 an Eve player on Reddit posted about a possible new Crow design. He had found it in the assets on the duality server.

CCP Navigator replied to that thread and said there is no new crow model, and that the image posted had to have been player created since it was not a CCP model.

This is the image posted in 2011
On 10/29/2011 I took that model and applied the materials to it that were indicated in the .red file.
And this is the Kronos remodel

Stuff like that makes the internet worth the money. Heck I might be able to get some Firefly fans I know interested in the game with that video.

I see what you did there. Horrible (first release) followed by a (tolerable reiteration.)

Very clever. But no +1 for you since I'm a purist.
