Ok so i just came back to eve and im having trouble finding a recent build for the nightmare my skills are decent but not close to perfect so extra tank wouldn't hurt me. Also i would like to stay on the subject of nightmares because i have one and don have the isk to buy anything else. Also on that note if we could keep the item cost under a billion that would be great as well but still list the best so i know what to upgrade. Thanks for the feedback also im mainly in caldari space but i can move if missions are better for lasers somewhere else. I plan on staying in high sec for awhile till i have a bank roll o fall back on.

So far i think ive got this: (any info would help (excluding saying use the faction version that costs 100x as much because it makes u cool))

Heat Sink II

Hmm read the original post its a long discussion... Doesn't seem like the nightmare is being hurt or anything unless im missing something (possible Ive been out of the game for about 2 years).

Found this i think this is what u were talking about:

NIGHTMARE

Amarr Battleship Bonus:
7.5% bonus to Large Energy Turret tracking speed

Caldari Battleship Bonus:
30% bonus to Afterburner velocity bonus (was 5% energy turret damage)

Role Bonus:
150% bonus to Large Energy Turret damage (was 100% energy turret damage)
NOTE: it's been requested that I point here that this is the same total damage bonus as the ship had prior to the change. (1.25 (25% bonus) * 2.00 (100% bonus) = 2.50 (150% bonus))

Slot layout: 6H, 7M, 6L(+1); 4 turrets, 0 launchers
Fittings: 14500 PWG, 710 CPU
Defense (shields / armor / hull) : 10550(+815) / 8650(-45) / 8200(-60)
Capacitor (amount / recharge / cap per second) : 6950 / 1154000ms(-875) / 6.0
Mobility (max velocity / agility / mass / align time): 114(+20) / .122(-.014) / 99300000 / 17.76s(-1.9)
Drones (bandwidth / bay): 75 / 75
Targeting (max targeting range / Scan Resolution / Max Locked targets):80km / 110(+10) / 7
Sensor strength: 28
Signature radius: 370(-30)

Salvage Drone I x5
Cap Booster 800 x19
Gleam L x4
Imperial Navy Gamma L x4

Tracking Speed Script x2

Edited fit for what I had saved.

Even if you don't want to fit anything else faction save up for 3 faction heat sinks... It adds 53 more DPS... Not a huge amount but still. The 4th one T2 makes sense because you only get 7 DPS.

I wouldn't use extender rigs for missions. The resist rig is fine. You need an active tank. Pretty much active hardeners and a shield booster. Either fit rigs that support your cap, resist, or DPS

I prefer 4 heat sinks and a TE but you can do 3 a TE and a DC. Keep in mind the Nightmare is getting another low slot soon.

Oh btw good luck getting Scorch ammo into Tachyon Beam Lasers Big smile

I edited my fit above to show what I saved in Eve. After the new patch I'm going to try a pulse AB setup so all this may change.

That's not too bad. Get some implants for intelligence and memory if you don't already have them. You can probably cut this time down somewhat by using faction/deadspace mods but if you plan on using the Nightmare you might as well bite the bullet since the skills will help your tank

first of i have to say my math was incorrect now that i have kronos stats in eft. ab is only 867m/s compared to mwd with 1037. 2nd i fly incursions when i need isk so i dont have a mission fit.

[Nightmare, Incursion]
Imperial Navy Heat Sink
Imperial Navy Heat Sink

Gist X-Type 100MN Afterburner

Large Remote Capacitor Transmitter II
Large Remote Capacitor Transmitter II

Large Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
Large Energy Discharge Elutriation II
Large Energy Discharge Elutriation II

Warrior II x5
Hammerhead II x5

On paper it looks reasonable, the xfers might be changed, but its also a possibility that u will still need mwd in incursions

Stealth Edit: changed the fit slightly -1 te +1dda ^^

hmm confused by ur fit to be honest its prolly the fact that ive been out of the game so long firstly dont the tracking computer scripts cancel each other out? because they are -100% +100% so ur fit is the same as if u ran no scripts?? Also u have no actual healing just the 2 adaptive invuls im unfamiliar with incursions but i thought they were even harder and u can get away with that? plus not getting instapopped in low sec?

The stacking penalties on apply to module affacting the same stats so you get 2 level of stacking from the scripted TC instead of 4.

Incursion ships use no local reps because it's the job of the Logi to give you your HP back.

You really need good turret skills to make the Nightmare shine. Most especially I'd say train Controlled Bursts V, because continuously firing Tachs guzzles an amazing amount of cap.

Because you want to be using that fat tracking bonus and staying in Multifreq or even Gleam range as much as possible. The Afterbonus will be very useful for this.

Tanking Nightmares for missions is already fairly simple: you burn everything that shoots at you to ash before it can do much damage. The mobility bonus will only amplify this.

I'd probably go with something like:

[Nightmare, New Setup 1]
Imperial Navy Heat Sink
Imperial Navy Heat Sink
Imperial Navy Heat Sink
Imperial Navy Heat Sink
Tracking Enhancer II

Gist A-Type 100MN Afterburner
Pith B-Type X-Large Shield Booster
Shield Boost Amplifier II
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
EM Ward Field II
Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script
Heavy Capacitor Booster II, Cap Booster 800

Tachyon Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L
Tachyon Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L
Tachyon Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L
Tachyon Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L
Salvager II
Small Tractor Beam II

Large Semiconductor Memory Cell II
Large Semiconductor Memory Cell I
Large Semiconductor Memory Cell I

Drones to taste.

EDIT: The PvE NM really benefits from a rack of cap & turret hardwirings. Why cheap out? I'd go with:

Slot 6: EO-605 (5% cap recharge)
Slot 7: MR-705 (5% tracking)
Slot 8: EM-805 (5% cap)
Slot 9: RF--905 (5% RoF) or SS-905 (5% Damage)
Slot 10: LE-1005 (5% Damage)

And before anyone complains about me recommending Semis over CCC rigs, do the maths.

Semis give you 18 cap/s at peak recharge plus an extra 5099 units of cap every time you undock - equivalent to carrying an extra 6.3 free cap 800 charges with you. That's a pretty nice buffer to have when you're in a ship that lives or dies on its capacitor.

CCCs give you an extra 3.7 cap/s at peak recharge compared to semis; that means you've got to be at peak recharge for 23 minutes before you've received more cap from CCC rigs

A T2 and a T1 Elutration rig will save you 13.6 cap/s while you're firing, plus 4.4 from a CCC rig; that's exactly the same performance as the Semis, but you don't get than nice 5k extra buffer and that cap is only available to your turrets.

Semis are just better for mission ships that redock frequently.

If you want MJD and tachs, use a Palladin.
