Jump Fuel Consumption based on ship size

Bad. Will only hurt the small alliances without the massive income streams the larger ones have.

Remove jump drives as they are today. Make caps able to take gates, and blind jump into a random location in the target system. No cyno needed, takes a few minutes to spool up. Can only reach out 5 stargates, LY's are irrelevent. Titans keep the bridge, but subs fly through a Halo like portal which forms infront of their ship. It takes 10-30 seconds to fly through the portal, depending on the class of ship. Jump fuel usage is completely removed from everything mentioned above. Black ops jump drives and bridges are not affected.

There you go, EvE gets more localized rather than an alliance being able to throw carrier blobs at 2 Dreads hitting a POCO 40 jumps away, before they can even come out of siege. Small alliances will be able to use caps without the looming threat of "suddenly 100 PL supers".

You are right , but only partially .
Escalating cost will hurt both sides, but smaller , local group will pay much less than a blob that will come to some timer from the other side of the map.

Think about this.
You are refing a poor r64 moon, it is giving around 1.5bil income , still big entity have it as they can.

You drop capitals to ref it , 1 jump 3 LY , let say you pay 400mil to do it (but the price will be much smaller ).
On the timer you start to hit this tower with subcaps , enemy escalate , drop full capital fleet ... and you disengage.

Why?
Cost of this fight for you : 400mil
Cost of this fight for your enemy 7bil

You ref this tower again next day.

Next reason why to do it , is to remove "we throw enough for someone else to not bother us "
You would be surprised how many times i was a witness of group of titans hitting small pos ( 1 or no guns ) as they don't have to siege, and you cannot kill them like dreads in siege.

Will this hurt every one ?
Yes , but it will also promote small local groups , not blobs from other side of the map.

Simple answer: smaller groups hold a smaller percentage of their power in supercapitals, therefore smaller groups will have their force projection affected less.

I still think a ship with around 10-20 times the dimensions should have 1000-4000x the mass and should pay that much more in fuel to get around. I'd argue that their attributes should match up with that in combat, but I think they already do.

Still wondering why sub capital ships don't need fuel in this game when i see all the capital hatred flowing on the forums...

I support this idea, it simple, effective, and also easy to implement. This is how you make suggestions, you keep it simple so that devs can actually implement it in a timely fashion, instead of offering a suggestion that might take years to produce.
