Any reason to keep a cruiser class ship?

So I used to have a Vexor (3 of them) they're no more do to various reasons, but now in my Eve life I wonder if I should get one again or not?

The ships I use are:

Tristan / Incursus - for scouting around asteroid belts I want to mine at and removing npc pirates
Iteron Mk3 - Drops off ore and containers
Catalyst - Salvager / Mining Alt defense
Brutix - Group Mission Running / Mission Support dps for L3's and 4's
Megathron - Looks pretty in my hangar cause I don't want it to blow up

Prior to my mining account training mining barges I was mining with my Vexor, but I'm thinking maybe it'd make a good all-purpose vessel since I can use so many drones (combat, mining, repair)

I don't know, I still feel pretty lost to what I should be doing with what ship. Also I train for ships based entirely on the way they look. Roll

A better question is "Is there any reason you shouldn't get one?" There's no limit to the type or number of ships you can have if you want them. If you want a ship and you have the ISK, go get it.

It's a great pvp cruiser.

For PVP, cruisers other than the Blackbird are basically obsolete. With the large destroyer buff and new BCs incoming, I can see this situation only worsening.

I plan to have my main able to fly every Tier 1 subcap of every race, and to that extent I'm storing them all in my base in Jita.

Is it economic? No. Does it accomplish anything? Nope. But training up to racial BS III only takes about a week, so why the hell not?

EDIT: This'll make you more viable for null/lowsec corps, btw, as you won't be limited in what you can fly. Nothing worse than being in a WH, losing your ship but escaping with your pod, but the only spare ships anyone can lend you are ones you can't fly.

You totally gave me an epiphany here, I hadn't even considered that before, but realizing now that a lot of the bases I dock at if I were to look at what is in their ship market don't always have ships I could pilot. Thanks! :)

it takes <7 days to flay a races t1 subcaps and 10 for mining barges, make that all subcaps and then you have an achievement

no one reads the TOS not even the guy that writes it. this is sig worthy http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/11/09/mortal-online-plagiarizes-eve-onlines-terms-of-service/1#c35015206

If you buy ships based entirely upon the way they look you will be very happy with the reskinned Vexor graphics in the expansion coming out in two weeks. It looks great now.

My plan is to own every Navy Faction BS, just for the ship spinning and occasional mission

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

Obviously you don't PVP - 75% of mt PVP ships are cruiser sized.
