You should listen to the Vocaroo. This is but a very, very dry summary to tonight's events.

If you run against someone named GonRin, and you're not fit for PvP, do yourself a favor and run like hell.

This dude... (did I mention this was embarassing?)... single-handedly, took out 2 battleships a logistics and an Ishtar, with his own Ishtar.

Granted, we weren't fit for PvP. And it was my call to mistakenly think that a group of PvE ships would be able to take out another Ishtar pilot. Mistakes were made, we engaged, and GonRin, by him damned self, mopped the floor with us.

In short, keep an eye out for the guy named Gonrin carrying his balls in a wheelbarrow if you don't want to taste what you ate several hours ago.

It's not often that you get to meet a pilot that blows your **** up and you're automatically in awe. He was fit perfectly, handled the situation perfectly, and GonRin, I salute you.

He forced me at drone-point.

We give props where props are warranted.

Our collective alcoholism usually takes care of making us look like a bunch of fools. Usually it's good camouflage. Sometimes we are actual fools. i.e., We're talking about clone upgrades at one point and 2 people very meekly mention that they'll brb.

We have fun no matter what.

Yep, that's it. It couldn't possibly be that we were fitted for a specific L5 mission. Nope, not at all.



On a side note: Seriously? You two can't just share a couple of laughs? Apparently, I incorrectly assumed that people would appreciate a departure from the usual "OMG DIRTY PIWATES BLEW UP MY WITTLE SHIP!".

It's admirable that you are willing to admit you made a mistake, but posting it here will not get you much but ridicule.

You should never engage someone that is specifically setup to kill you and you are specifically setup for PVE, as you've learned greater numbers don't necessarily matter when you are not setup to fight.

Also, better move elsewhere or do something else now as more people will be hunting you now that you have brought it to their attention that you do level V missions....What?

OP: Losing ships is a good thing as long as you learn from it. And also, respect to you as one of the rare people on these forums that is not to proud to say "Oops, I derped"

In a many v 1 situation, you should shoot all the drones first against an Ishtar, using your own heavy drones if possible, otherwise medium ones.

Mostly because Ishtars can have 3 flights of heavies. But partially because we figured that the sheer amount of DPS we had would make it a moot point. Lesson learned!

Oh surprise PVP would actually be delightful seeing how the only reason we were running L5s is because the roam preceding it we saw nothing but one Heron, and we'd be damned if we did not fire shots in anger at something that night.
