Here's a REALLY shocking fact about McDonald's:

In Germany, its deliverers can't supply it with non-gen-manipulated corn anymore. The quantities that it needs simply don't exist anymore, because Monsanto are busy successfully killing our planet. They have to buy gen-manipulated corn now to keep making those buns.

The bees will die soon, and then the rest of us.

Which means they sell nothing because selling genetically modified food is banned in the EU.

Hm the newspaper didn't mention that.

Eve too complicated? Try Astrum Regatta.

Because it's not banned throughout all of the EU? Then there is the matter of imported food and how it's distributed, or to whom. In the US we cant get this administration to even label it Sad too concerned over entitlements to their supporters/voters/unions to even give a crap.

I'm so tired of the "anti McDonald's" crowd. If you don't like it don't go there. No one will force you to eat there. Don't try to force me not to.

I wouldn't have a problem with the Golden Arches if they were just another restaurant. But when good eating establishments are forced out of business because of that ****, I get bothered. I don't like having to go a mile down a main commercial road, passing several McDonald's just to find one not-McDonald's.

how many country's mcdonalds are represented here anyway?

While I do agree that their menu's nutritional value is... questionable, at least on the burger side, here in Portugal, the McD franchises are bound by very, very strict food&health legislation, to the point where its standarts are on par with some upper-range restaurants.

Right so in regards that maize http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regulation_of_genetically_modified_organisms_in_the_European_Union says that maize is the sole exception to the rule along with potato to be allowed for commercial use.

I don't believe it has anything to do with that at all.

For myself, I don't care if "a lot of money" is being made. I care how that money is made. And sorry, but the food at McDonalds is absolutely terrible for starters, and terrible for you. I rarely eat there, but the last 3 times I did, I get horrible gas and feel fatigued with low energy the rest of the day. And food from anywhere else (Burger King, say) does not do that to me.

Also, I actually worked at one for 5 months when I was 16. That's all I'm gonna say about that, and "things" I saw.

McDonalds provides the cheapest "food" possible, but I'd rather pay just a few dollars more for a descent flame grilled burger anywhere else.

But their Fries freaking rock !!!!!! Lol That's all I ever order there anymore.

honestly I think it's more because of how lax authorities are with F&H regs, and so that's really dependant from the country.

here, the guys that oversee these regs (ASAE) are very strict. strict and powerful, to the point that when they come, bullet proof vests and escored by cops, they'll kick out everyone of a restaurant while people are eating if needed.

once McD came into our country, it already had some "fame" here, so rules in these sort of restaurants are quite simple: HACCP-style regs, done twice over.

McD restaurants clean their bathrooms at least 4 times a day. same goes to the diner floor.
Meat must come from reputable, traceable, sources.
Confection is done with a set of very rigid rules that dictate the time and method of cooking, down to the second.
etc, etc, etc.

if any, over here and from experience, the McD food isn't that unealthy beyond any other fast food chain in this country (still not healthy, but more healthy than buying pre-made or frozen food), xcept for the salt that seems to be a bit abused over here. Soups and sallads sold in the McD diners are also of relatively good quality.

so yeah, as I said. not the healthiest food you can buy in a diner, sure, but it's one of the safest places, as far as as food safety goes.

at least over here in this tiny country.

hah that's all that article is about. It's a big successful corp making a lot of money, lets take shots at that. Nothing about it's true problems, just that they are big and successful, a corp, makes money, lets hate. Where did it say otherwise? Only if you read between the lines and insert an opinion over noting mentioned in the article.

Reading a few article comments, this one the best one: "Tricked us into reading it!" Lol

Also the dude thinks that the fries are the best thing you can get there.

If anything from Mcdonalds tastes like cardboard, it's those damn fries, man, they are pretty good, but so damn sweaty and SALTIER than anything I've ever tasted. It's like when Bender tried to become a cook and dumped salt all over that fish that he baked. So much salt.

You like their fries but no shout out for the cheeseburger or the nuggets?

Like come on son...

meh I like onion rings better anyway. Like this Yellow Basket place not far from me, few bucks for a huge bag of rings, the bag is disintegrating at the bottom from all the grease dripping through Cool
And it burns if you dive right in, always made on demand, not just sitting under some heat lamp for hours.

Good eating establishments are forced out of business?... Wait when did the mafia and organized crime get into the fast food business?? Are they going around burning down these "good eating establishments" so people have to eat at McDonalds?

Or did you mean that people are choosing to eat at McDonald's rather than these "good eating establishments" you are referring to... and they're going out of business due to lack of customers? If so that's what free choice is all about!

I'm not sure about in your neck of the woods but around here there are quite a few "good eating establishments" around. In all honesty I don't think a good restaurant is in direct competition from McDonalds or any other "fast food" place. If I have 30 minutes for lunch I'm not going to a nice restaurant. If I want to relax and eat dinner I'm not going to McDonalds.

That reminds me: the McDonald's in Civitavecchia, Italy is bomb. I would definitely go there again.

Why can't they be like that here in the USA?
