SO. i have started my venue to build t2 ships/components id like to start by mining moons and making the reactions all out in 0.0 and building in highsec more than likely the components for t2 ships etc... NOW i just about threw my computer out the window today when i did about 25 moons in NPC 0.0 and found jack squat mostly 04: Atmospheric Gases, Evaporate Deposits, Hydrocarbons, Silicates not a single one of any value in fact most of them were empty. im using a survey probe launcher with the survey probes. Is this typical? Are there any moons in NPC 0.0 space worth a damn? id love to get sov and get tasty moons way out but im not a goon and i don't have a 1000 man cap fleet to do so. they wonder why people only make it to a year get bored and go play something else. but seriously can anyone shed some light on the situation, im on the verge of leaving eve due to the fact that there's not much for me to do but go into t2 building if i cant do that then oh well.

Yes, there are valuable moons in NPC Nullsec, but they're already taken and you won't take them Solo. Tech 2 production also involves a bit more than just some 'Moon materials', as every moon material still needs to be reacted into something more useful. I heard Jita is really popular with Tech 2 builders as source for materials.

As above poster said, it's extremely unlikely that you'll find any decent, unoccupied moons in LowSec or 0.0. You won't be able to supply your own T2 manufacturing without a dozen or so moons.

Example:
Titanium Diborite Armor Plate = Titanium Carbide + Sylramic Fibers

Titanium Carbide = Silicon Diborite + Titanium Chromide
Silicon Diborite = Evaporite Deposits + Silicates
Titanium Chromide = Titanium + Chromium

So Titanium Carbide requires: 4 raw materials (3 reactions)

Sylramic Fibers = Ceramic Powder + Hexite
Ceramic Powder=Evaporite Deposits+Silicates
Hexite = Chromium + Platinum

So Sylramic FIbers requires: 4 raw materials (3 reactions)

To harvest, react and manufacture Titanium Diborite Armor Plates, you need 5 raw materials (chromium, evaporite and silicates are used twice). Unless you're in a group that is very combat-capable, you will not likely be able to do that.

You're best off simply buying the advanced moon materials from Jita nad building the components. If you ignore the moon mining which as others have said is impossible as a small party then you may find this guide useful.
