Quake 4 came and went, and nobody really noticed it. Maybe Doom 4 will do the same.

I have very fond memories of DOOM 1 and 2, Quake 1 and 2.

Those were fun times.

Doom 4 is in active development. They scrapped the whole thing and started over a while back (too much CoD, too little Doom), so not sure on current progress. If you pre-order Wolfenstein The New Order you get access to the Doom 4 beta though, so they're definitely working on it.

I need to finish most of the original Doom 3. I got stuck on a part early on where I killed my first demon and then there's an energy beam I'm supposed to do something with (I think). I wandered back and forth through every area I had access to for hours and couldn't figure out what to do next. I keep coming across that dead demon.

Just like every FPS I play, even going back to the ol' Wolfenstein 3D. But Wolf 3D had the least of that getting lost crap.

Seriously though, if someone could tell me what to do next, maybe I could boot up the game and play it again. I don't know if I can still run it though, because I don't remember what form of DRM they used to make you wish you had got the free cracked version, but I paid money for it and had problems because of that.
