[Malkalen] Another year forward

Six years ago on this day, our world changed when a rogue capsuleer struck against one of the visionaries of our age. This attack fired the blood, gave strength to those who beat the drums of war, and destroyed the peaceful vision of Otro Gariushi. What's more, it empowered those who would have perpetual war, ensuring that we would never again witness Gariushi's dream.

Time passed. Malkalen's fires died. The Shiigeru fell.

With each passing day, the legacy of the Malkalen Disaster fades, but the legacy of Gariushi remains.

Let us remember on this day that winds change; that the harsh winds of winter are followed by the warm winds of spring. We struggle so that we may thrive with the changing of the season, when darkness and frost yield to blossom and birdsong.

Update; An informal gathering will take place at Malkalen station on the 25th at 1900 hours, aboard the PTSV Yamabushi, accessible via NeoCOM channel 'Yamabushi sanctuary' for those wishing a feed. Please note that this will be a smaller, more informal affair than in years past.

I feel we shouldn't remember the Malkalen incident, and the day Otro Gariushi died as much as we should remember when he lived and the principles he lived by. We have mourned the dead, and we shouldn't forget, but we should also move on and always make sure that his vision didn't die with Gariushi.

The winds change, paths open and close, but we should always strive towards a goal and no matter what changes, the goals aren't insurmountable if we want it enough and we work towards it together, and though the men and women with ideals may die, and idea cannot be killed, it can only be momentarily forgotten.

We can remember how a good man's life was tragically cut short, and how the lives of many others who weren't in the spotlight also died, and we can remember how the station burned and how warmongers used it to beat the drums of war. We can even remember what that led to with open hostilities culminating in another tragedy, but something else we can do: we can remember the vision of peace and the fact that our interactions don't have to lead to conflict and death, and we can continue the life's work of somebody long after he has passed.

I'd like to also make a note here that this will be the first Malkalen Memorial Event hosted wholly by Director Priano. I'm proud to be her colleague, and look forward to the happenings. Let us all move forward together into better times, as Gariushi envisioned.

It was a sad day when Otro Gariushi died at the hands of a Gallente Admiral Alexander Noir, who held animosity, old racial prejudices and national hatred for the Caldari.

Im sure we all remember where we were that day. That day, the Caldari State awakened to a danger and called to defend our Nation. The Federation committed an act of war against our nation. Our grief has turned to anger, and anger to resolution. Whether we bring our enemies to justice, or bring justice to our enemies, justice will be done.

Peoples of Ishukone shouldn't forget that they are not just Ishukone, but that they are Caldari and citizens of the State.
Being Caldari means way more than just being member of corporation.
And by remembering heros, peoples of Ishukone should remember not just their CEO, but the leader of the whole State,
the greatest Caldari Citizen, and Executor, Tibus Heth, who raised Caldari peoples from the knees, and who led us to victory.
Only because of efforts of Tibus Heth we did manage to revenge gallenteans for what the did with Malkalen.
And only because of Tibus Heth now we have our Home back.
And we shouldn't forget, that the war is not over yet, and half of our Home is still occupied by oppressors, who wanted to kill all of Caldari.
We must continue our fight and secure our future, and we must win, in the name of all those, who sacrificed their lives for Caldari!

Otro Gariushi ..... a great Caldari citizen?

Otro Gariushi was a great citizen of the entire New Eden Cluster!

His loss was a loss for all of humanity in New Eden, you are correct to honor his memory and his goals, as do many others not of the Caldari State, Otro Gariushi was a beacon of hope for all the things that peace and cooperation can yield.

‘Vain flame burns fast/and its lick is light/Modest flame lasts long/and burns to the bone.’

" We lost a war we chose not to fight." Without a doubt this is the best way to lose any war and the worst excuse to explain the beating afterwards.

Thank you, Priano-haani. Gariushi-ortesai left many gifts for us to consider, even those of us who aren't Ishukone by citizenship. I hope that I'm worthy of them, and will do my best to make his memory proud.

Diana, Interrupting the announcement of what is obviously a sacred occasion for Ishukone in order to tell them how to behave isn't very appropriate. Gariushi-ortesai's life and trails are very much worthy of consideration on their own - as is Heth-ortesai's. This isn't the place to voice this sort of thing.

I am sorry about that, suuolo!
But I am very concerned with treacherous line of Ishukone. Gariushi-haan was exceptional person and great CEO. Unfortunately, after his death Ishukone went down from the rail, and the whole time after his death, they were OPPOSING whole State.
All other corporations were working together as one Caldari State, while Ishukone was our black sheep.

I really wish for Otro Gariushi and Tibus Heth both stayed alive and worked together to make the Great United Caldari State. And I really hope that Gariushi-haan would understand that galleneans are real our enemies before they killed him... This is just too sad.

And now we left without them alone, with Ishukone still acting for about six years as a traitor corporation, and all other corporations just doing their business without working for greater good.

Those, who died, cannot be brought back. And we shouldn't wait for everything to fix itself.
The future is in our hands, suuolo.
And we must act.

A machines' many parts often strike at each other in their work. Firing pins strike percussive caps, igniters destroy combustion fuel; components break and wear one another to reach their goals.

You are a firing pin; I am a fuel regulator. Don't worry about the spaceship in that other squadron.
