Doing incursion style payouts with LP's and mission rewards is cool.

don't do it with bounties tho.

Rivr, dnt understand how this forces u to play with others.

EVE FAQ "7.2 CAN I AVOID PVP COMPLETELY? No; there are no systems or locations in New Eden where PvP may be completely avoided"

It puzzles me why people think that new player retention and how the game's PVE is structured have anything to do with one another.

Not that, but when other people ask for missions to be redesigned in order to allow only groups to enter, or the implement features that prevent several open instances of a client on the same computer. This kind of stuff.

However, Incursions theoretically (and rightfully so) force you to play in groups as you can only gain the optimal payout in groups. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this approach for some activities as it is something different from the routine and introduces players somehow to other aspects of the game. But for everything to require groups may sound fancy, but it is tiresome to constantly depend on others.
Even a mission system which gives proportionally harder tasks (more NPC, more shrewed AI, more spawns, etc.) and proportionally better payment, the more people do the activity (with limits, of course, and this is probably quite difficult to balance out), while still providing solo players with adequate payment (means not less than today, in order to make the "better" payment look "better" when it is just the same with a name) for these missions would be an interesting change.

You need to make money somehow to afford the joys of PVP. And some people like to play a space game (with) other people, but don't really fancy fighting against them (all the time).

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

So what does that actually have to do with new players? New players are not defined as PvE players, or PvP players, or anything else really.

All I see is people trying to appropriate a category more sympathetic than their own, to try and get their playstyle more attention than it deserves.

Oh, look, yet another person trying to make the NPE talk be about their personal pet-peeve, instead of the NPE. Roll

"Help, I'm bored with missions!"

Well, you got my support, but you are stopping far too early, there is way more that needs to be changed and there are many more opportunities. I will mention this later, maybe in a few weeks, when I got time to define it all and make it as exploit proof as I can think of.
I will remember your thread and your first part is already something I have integrated a while ago. I have two EVE suggestion projects in developement, but am working 10-14 hours a day momentarily, so the only thing I can check is the forum when no customers are in, but not enough time for anything else but the usual like ot 'rage' Pirate

Keep it up, don't let yourself be dragged down by 'nay' sayers and make further good suggestions, that's what we need.

I guess they want to bring new players directly into PVP with a new mission system, without accustoming them to the old, boring missions.
