New typhoon is gorgeous. my only issue is the size of it.
Typhoon is 103,200,000 in weight, and 1,072 long.

Apocalypse is 97,100,000 in wieght but is 1550 long, and the same width as the typhoon.

It would be great of ccp would just bump the scale switch up a notch on the typoon so it actually compares to other battleships.

The Typhoon looks a little small compared to other battleships. I also wish the Typhoon looked like the concept art. In the concept its light brown and you can actually see details inside the mouth. In-game its reduced to pretty much just a black blob, and no matter how you position the ship you can't get enough light to see inside the mouth. It also seems strange to me that the little fingers on the side open up when in warp. It seems more natural for things to close and tuck away while in warp. Talos is the same way, it opens up like a Marauder when going into warp for some reason.

The Mordus Battlepancake is pretty much always going to be invisible to its pilot in-game, since its pretty much just a flat plane. Its not often that you'll be positioned perfectly to have said plane catch the light source. Ships with more dimension to them have a better chance at having at least some part of the ship catch EVE's wonky light source.

WTB permanent SoE skins for all ships in EVE so I can actually see them.

The typhoon skin is still wip. as for the opening, i like it. its almost like that armor protects windows, which are a structural weak-point while out of warp where you might be fighting, but in warp it opens for the crew to see the stars. i assume in the next few days it will be updated with better details, just wait. *fingers crossed for bigger scale*

I agree that the Typhoon could look more like the concept art but we are going to tweak the brightness, color and specular highlights of most of the ships in the near future and Minmatar is certainly top priority. We just want to do it in a bulk and can not make a special case of one ship.

As for the Mordu´s battleship being flat and not catching enough light on the side to be visible to players, we have brightened it a little and with all the lighting changes we plans for (bounce light, secondary light from planets and nebulae etc.) this will be less of an issue.

Good to hear, the Typhoon looks awesome and it's a shame that a lot of the details get lost. As for the changes in lighting technology, we've been hearing about them for a couple of years now. Is that kind of tech finally on the horizon this/next year?

As far as I can tell, the stuff folding open in warp on the 'phoon and Talos are either field-generators or heat-sinks for the warp systems. :) They even animate on the 'phoon.

What I like on the Talos is that the center mounted guns move forward and lock in warp. Smile

Awesome. Glad to hear there are still plans to rework lighting in the game. And particularly glad to hear that Minmatar ships are recognized as needing tweaks.

For those posting about the new Domi model not being available on SiSi: it has been confirmed that the new Domi model is not coming in Kronos, so that is why it is not in there.

If Minmatar ship skins are slated for some visual re-balancing can I also suggest that the Minmatar nebula be toned down a bit? BlinkEVE Visual Rebalancing

Thats also a very good point. Some of the Nebulae need some brightness/saturation tweaking

It would also be nice if you could tweak the previews a little. The ships are often very bright from on side and very very dark on the other side.

Just noticed the serial numbers on the new Moa.

Moa = MO4
Onyx = 1-7X
Eagle = E-4GL

Nice touch. Were they on the old models also?

Respect CCP the reddesigns are awesome, i mean those extreme assymetrical ships looked ugly for me. But now the new design is breathtaking and the Warptransformations are a epic detail. Assymetric ships are okay like the Raven are looking cool but if i remember the old Scorpion that looked so ugly Thumps up to the designers doing a great job there.

Then it's even sweeter. Made me chuckle when I spotted the first one and rushed to check the other versions. Any plans for the Gila?
