For PvE those changes are not impacting the setups etc in any noteable kind, however in PvP it's an addition i look forward to Pirate

I'd guess for conventional PvE atleast nothing changes - as a carrier in triage can't launch drones :p

Would still be nice to see a golem with a swarm of 60 fighters or such... Say, do the sleepers even shoot fighters if they're getting painted red by that golem?

But what about the second carrier?

In general and for pvp the buffs aren't that massive, mobility and tank will improve but damage application only very slightly. Thanatos DPS should reach +2K on reasonable fits (2.5K with mad skills) whether or not this makes dps carrier a viable option remains to be field tested. Hopefully this opens up some new tactics.

Heh thanks for the compliment I guess...

As for this idea for running sites with carriers and fighters/heavy drones its not very effective. Its very difficult to tank the incoming dps and your drones get blapped by sleepers. Maybe if you you had 3-4 carriers spider tanking it would work, but if your putting that much effort in might as well do with better methods.

Think the issue are carriers. 10-15 fighters for 1bil makes this mostly interesting for home-esscalations. Drop all the unused carriers 1km off your force fields and assign fighters to the huginn/rapier/loki. I'd guess sleepers won't shoot them with regular caps still on field and that amount of ewar.

Given that'd work, you could also do this in the c4 you bought complete with phoenix/chimera and assign fighters to a golem. Or you could sit out in your c5 static from your c5, assigning drones to a marauder, leaving the carrier... I wouldn't know where to leave it.

Just seems so difficult with that much mass.

Well, you can't assign more than 5 fighters to any one ship (assuming they have drones V), so you really can't use ~that~ many extra carriers with their fighters assigned. I don't think the extra 2-3k dps would ever matter, in most cases I bet the sleepers will probably just be dead before the fighters ever get into prime position to actually do dps.

Well CCP decided to increase the fighter sig res to 400, ensuring that they remain useless. I guess they realised that Thanatos could be marginally useful in some extremely niche situation in a barely measurable way, and reacted quickly to prevent such horror from ever happening on TQ.

Fighters with omnis and nav comps now blap a frigate moving 2.5km/s with AB. That's how terrible their tracking is. (Incl. Kronos changes that is)

Can mitigate the loss of speed by bringing more carriers which also makes it safer.

Also with drone buff carriers will have 20-2500 dps using fighters which is still better then a marauder.



Depending where you live and how bling you want to go that number is more like 5.3k to 5.5k......

Do you mean "a frigate died to fighters this one time on the test server"? Before or after the sig res increase? Anyway, coming from you this does sound like all is not lost, and I haven't tested the changes myself- time for more optimism. One strength they will have over heavies is MWD speed, with skills applied and a nav comp they should be viable over short-medium sentry ranges.

Solo-Site: engaging site in a repatitive farming cylce over a period of several days including full capital escaltion (How wormhole corps look at it)

or Completing all Waves plus additional Capital Escalation for an additional 6 BS (how ccp tries to imagine it)


Well given the fact that C5 Solo guys are a veeeery rare breed ... and true Solo is mostly defined by riskavert people multiboxing....to exploit the capital escalations (which is why people are living in high class wormholes)....and by that dont care about drones because !******* BLAPP!
if people wanna throw solo caps at sleepers its c4-c2 space ... (i found a chimera in a c1 once... i dont even wanna know why) and funny thing is .. people are doing it in there for ages .. soo yeeah BUFF ... the end :P

You might want to take a closer look at drone changes. Skills affect fighters, so do drone mods, ranges have been more than doubled - and yes, a thanny volleyed my linked succubus unwebbed. Curious as I was, it also volleyed any other frig I tested that made less than 5km/s.

Also, you're not quite the reference for anything pvp-related with an empty Kb.

Confirming fighters/heaviers are frigate killing machines. If you're not goin 5k m/s or faster you're gonna have a bad time.

A garmur goin 4300 m/s was out ran by fighters and died horribly
